2020–21 Tennessee State Tigers Basketball Team
The 2020–21 Tennessee State Tigers basketball team represented Tennessee State University in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Tigers, led by third-year head coach Brian Collins, played their home games at the Gentry Complex in Nashville, Tennessee as members of the Ohio Valley Conference. Previous season The Tigers finished the 2019–20 season 18–15, 9–9 in OVC play to finish in a tie for fifth place. They defeated Morehead State in the first round of the OVC tournament, before losing in the quarterfinals to Eastern Kentucky. Brian Collins (basketball)
Brian "Penny" Collins is an American college basketball coach, and current head coach of the Tennessee State Tigers basketball team. Playing career A Nashville native, Collins was a four-year starter at hometown Belmont under Rick Byrd, and was the captain of the Bruins first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance at the Division I level in 2006. He scored 1,199 points in his career, and left the school as the all-time leader in assists and steals at the Division I level. After graduation, Collins played professional basketball between 2006 and 2007 with the Bakersfield Jam of the NBDL and Kouvot in Finland. Coaching career In 2007, Collins began his coaching career serving as a graduate assistant and director of basketball operations at Tennessee State until 2009, when he accepted an assistant coaching position at NAIA institution Cumberland. Webster Groves High School is a public secondary school in Webster Groves, Missouri, United States. It is located at 100 Selma Ave, Webster Groves, MO. The school is part of the Webster Groves School District and its current principal is Matt Irvin. History Webster Groves High School was first established in 1889 as a ninth grade course. The original high school building was located on Gray Avenue, which was later repurposed as Bristol Elementary School. Lawson State Community College
Lawson State Community College (Lawson State, Lawson, LSCC) is a public, historically black community college with campuses in Birmingham and Bessemer, Alabama. The technical division of the college was founded as Wenonah State Technical Institute in Birmingham in 1949. Lawson State is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, and offers nearly 200 associate degree and certificate programs. The Mercer Bears men's basketball team represents Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, United States. The school's team competes in the Southern Conference.
