2020–21 Memphis Grizzlies Season
The 2020–21 Memphis Grizzlies season was the 26th season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and 20th in Memphis. The Grizzlies qualified for the playoffs for the first time since the 2016–17 season following a victory over the Golden State Warriors in the play-in tournament. However, they lost to the Utah Jazz in five games. Draft Guard Desmond Bane was acquired from the Boston Celtics for two future second-round picks, after they had selected him at #30 overall. He would make the All-Rookie Second Team, having averaged 9.2 points per game on 43.2% shooting from three, the latter of which led all rookies. Taylor Jenkins
Taylor Vetter Jenkins (born September 12, 1984) is an American professional basketball coach who is the head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Early life and education Jenkins attended the St. Mark's School of Texas in Dallas. He was a two-time captain on their basketball team, where he played as an undersized forward. He studied at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and earned a Bachelor's of Science in Economics while concentrating in Management and minoring in Psychology. Jonas Valančiūnas
Jonas Valančiūnas ( ; ; born 6 May 1992) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player for the New Orleans Pelicans of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was selected by the Toronto Raptors with the fifth overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft. At the 2019 trade deadline, he was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. Temetrius Jamel "Ja" Morant (born August 10, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The 2020–21 Minnesota Timberwolves season was the 32nd season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA) On February 21, 2021, the Timberwolves fired head coach Ryan Saunders after three seasons with the team. On the following day, Toronto Raptors assistant head coach Chris Finch was announced as the next head coach. NBA G League
The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) official List of developmental and minor sports leagues, minor league basketball organization. The league was known as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) from 2001 to 2005, and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) from 2005 until 2017. The league started with eight teams until NBA commissioner David Stern announced a plan to expand the NBA D-League to 15 teams and develop it into a true minor league farm team, farm system, with each NBA D-League team affiliated with one or more NBA teams in March 2005. Sonia Raman is an American professional basketball coach who is an assistant coach for the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA). She served as the head coach of the MIT Engineers women's basketball team from 2008 to 2020, and had the most wins in the team's history. Brad Jones (born c. 1969) is an American basketball coach, currently an assistant coach for the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
