2020–21 Minnesota Timberwolves Season
The 2020–21 Minnesota Timberwolves season was the 32nd season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA) On February 21, 2021, the Timberwolves fired head coach Ryan Saunders after three seasons with the team. On the following day, Toronto Raptors assistant head coach Chris Finch was announced as the next head coach. After a loss to the Sacramento Kings on April 21, followed by the San Antonio Spurs defeating the Detroit Pistons the next day, the Timberwolves were eliminated from playoff contention for the third straight year. Ryan Saunders
Ryan Philip Saunders (born April 28, 1986) is an American basketball assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is known for his work as a Head coach for the Minnesota Timberwolves and in player development with the Washington Wizards staff. He is the son of longtime NBA coach Flip Saunders. Early life Born in Medina, Minnesota, Saunders graduated from Wayzata High School in Plymouth, Minnesota in 2004. College playing career A walk-on, Saunders played basketball at the University of Minnesota from 2004 to 2008 as a guard. He played only 20 games in his first two seasons in a backup role. Daniel Oturu
Akinfayoshe Daniel Oturu (born September 20, 1999) is a Nigerian-American professional basketball player for the Windy City Bulls of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. High school career Oturu played basketball for Cretin-Derham Hall High School in Saint Paul, Minnesota for four years. He grew from 6'6 as a freshman to 6'9 as a junior and developed good hand-eye coordination and navigation on the court. David Vanterpool
David Vanterpool (born March 31, 1973) is an American professional basketball coach and former player. He most recently served as an assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Pablo Prigioni
Pablo Prigioni (born May 17, 1977) is an Argentine-Italian former professional basketball player, currently serving as an assistant coach for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Bryan Gates is an assistant coach for the Phoenix Suns. Before joining the Suns, Gates was an assistant coach for the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Sacramento Kings, and the New Orleans Pelicans. Joseph Blair (born June 12, 1974) is an American former professional basketball player, and current assistant coach for the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
