2020 USL Championship Playoffs
The 2020 USL Championship Playoffs was the post-season championship of the 2020 USL Championship. It was the tenth edition of the USL Championship Playoffs. The playoffs began on October 10, and originally scheduled to conclude with the USL Championship Final on November 1. The Final was then cancelled the day before because several Tampa Bay Rowdies players and staff tested positive for COVID-19. The championship would not be awarded. Real Monarchs were the defending USL Championship champions, but failed to qualify for the playoffs. Tampa Bay Rowdies
The Tampa Bay Rowdies are an American professional Association football, soccer team based in St. Petersburg, Florida. The club was founded in 2008 and first took the pitch in 2010. Since 2017, the Rowdies have been members of the USL Championship in the second tier of the American soccer pyramid. They formerly played in USSF Division 2 (in 2010) and the North American Soccer League (2011–2017), North American Soccer League (NASL) (from 2011 to 2016), which were also second-tier leagues. Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC
Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC is an American professional soccer team based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1999 and beginning play in 1999, the club plays in the Eastern Conference of the USL Championship, the second tier of the American soccer pyramid. Since 2013, the Riverhounds have played their home games at the 5,000-seat Highmark Stadium, a soccer-specific stadium located in Station Square. Their current head coach is Bob Lilley. Sebastián Ignacio Guenzatti Varela (born July 8, 1991) is a Uruguayan footballer who plays for Indy Eleven in the USL Championship. Youth career Guenzatti was born in Uruguay before moving to the United States at 12, where he grew up in the College Point section of Queens in New York City, and graduated from Francis Lewis High School in Fresh Meadows, where he started for the soccer team all four years. Professional aspirations took Guenzatti back to his homeland, where he played with Peñarol's under-19 team, before moving to Huracán in 2013. Jordan Doherty (born 29 August 2000) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder or defender for Tampa Bay Rowdies in the USL Championship. Joaquín Antonio Rivas Navarro (born 26 April 1992) is a Salvadoran professional footballer who plays for USL Championship club Miami FC and the El Salvador national team. The Charleston Battery are an American professional association football, soccer club based in Charleston, South Carolina, and member of the USL Championship.
