2020 Nordic Golf League
The 2020 Nordic Golf League is the 22nd season of the Nordic Golf League, a third-tier tour recognised by the European Tour. In-season changes The season started with four events in Spain, and was later suspended in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After the hiatus, the schedule was subject to change and several tournaments were postponed, cancelled or due to travel restrictions, became unofficial events for Order of Merit ranking purposed. The tour announced in July that only the top three players (rather than the traditional five) on the final Order of Merit would receive Challenge Tour status for the 2021 season. Mikael Lindberg
Mikael Johan Lindberg (born 12 January 1993) is a Swedish professional golfer and European Tour player. He won the 2022 Indoor Golf Group Challenge. Professional career Lindberg turned professional in 2013 and joined the Nordic Golf League. He recorded his maiden professional victory at the 2016 Trummenäs Open. In 2019 he won the Tour Final in Estonia. His breakthrough season was 2020 when he won 4 tournaments and topped the Nordic Golf League Order of Merit, to graduate to the Challenge Tour. On the Challenge Tour he was in contention in his second start, finishing tied for third at the 2021 Bain's Whisky Cape Town Open, one stroke behind J. C. Ritchie and Jacques Blaauw. The finish propelled him to 250th on the Official World Golf Ranking. The Swedish Golf Tour Final, currently titled as The No. 1 Tour Final in Golf, is a golf tournament played as the season-ending championship of the Swedish Golf Tour. The Tour Final was introduced in the 2005 season, succeeding the Telia Grand Prix, a Challenge Tour event that had served as the season ending event for most years since 1996. The Swedish Golf Tour (women) had played the Telia Ladies Finale since 1997. Both were discontinued around the time tour sponsorship passed from Telia to Scandinavian Airlines and it became the SAS Masters Tour. 2020 Danish Golf Tour
The Danish Golf Tour, currently titled as the ECCO Tour for sponsorship reasons, is a developmental professional golf tour based in Denmark. Similar to the Swedish Golf Tour, most events on the Danish Golf Tour schedule are incorporated into the Nordic Golf League, one of the four third-tier tours recognized by the European Tour. History The tour was founded in 2002 as a joint venture by Dan Stage and the PGA of Denmark. The aim of the tour being to provide a new generation of golfers with optimal conditions for developing their game. The inaugural season was in 2003 where the tour hosted ten tournaments, culminating in a total prize fund of . Adam Lasse Björn Hellgren (born 21 November 1990) is a Swedish professional golfer and Asian Tour player. He was runner-up in the 2021 Dormy Open on the Challenge Tour. Early life and amateur career Hellgren was born in 1990 in Västerås. He played ice hockey on one of Sweden's premier teams until he was 15 years old, when he focused on golf. The Swedish PGA Championship for men is a golf tournament played annually in Sweden since 1970. It has been an event on the Swedish Golf Tour schedule since 1984 and the Nordic Golf League since 1999. History From its beginning in 1970, it was a championship for members of the PGA of Sweden. The Swedish Match Play Championship is a golf tournament played since 1904, held for both men and women. It is the oldest and most traditional golf tournament in Sweden. The name SM is shortening in Swedish language for "Svenska Mästerskapet" (the Swedish Championship). Ludvig Noa Åberg (born 31 October 1999) is a Swedish amateur golfer. He rose to number one in the World Amateur Golf Ranking in September 2022, after becoming number one in the European Amateur Golf Ranking in April 2021.
