2020 Mugello Formula 2 Round
The 2020 Mugello FIA Formula 2 round was a pair of motor races for Formula 2 cars that took place on 12-13 September 2020 at the Mugello Circuit in Mugello, Italy as part of the FIA Formula 2 Championship. It was the ninth round of the 2020 FIA Formula 2 Championship and ran in support of the 2020 Tuscan Grand Prix. Report Lundgaard achieved his first pole position in qualifying, but he was not successful in the race. For the first time since 2018 Sakhir Formula 2 round a team scored a one-two in the feature race with Mazepin first and Ghiotto second. Ghiotto also broke the record for the most podiums in Formula 2 history with 24. Both Ilott and Shwartzman failed to score points in the feature race, while Schumacher, by finishing in fifth, led the championship for the first time. Mugello Circuit
Mugello Circuit () is a race track in Scarperia e San Piero, Florence, Tuscany, Italy. The circuit length is . It has 15 turns and a long straight. The circuit stadium stands have a capacity of 50,000. Grand Prix motorcycle racing host an annual event at the circuit (for MotoGP and smaller classes). In 2007 and 2008 the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters held an annual event. The track is owned by Scuderia Ferrari, which uses it for Formula One testing. The first race of the A1GP 2008–09 season was originally planned to be held at the Mugello circuit on 21 September 2008. However, the race had to be cancelled due to the delay in building the new chassis for the new race cars. The 2020 Tuscan Grand Prix (officially known as the Formula 1 Pirelli Gran Premio della Toscana Ferrari 1000 2020) was a Formula One motor race held on 13 September 2020 at the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello in Scarperia e San Piero, Tuscany, Italy. The race was the ninth round of the 2020 Formula One World Championship and the first race of the season with spectators. The race was won by Lewis Hamilton of the Mercedes team, with teammate Valtteri Bottas in second; Mercedes scored their third 1–2 finish of the season. Alexander Albon of Red Bull Racing-Honda scored his first podium in Formula One with a third-place finish, becoming the first Thai driver to do so. Campos Racing is a Spanish motor racing team, founded by former Formula One driver Adrián Campos. The team has been successful in Formula Three and the GP2 Series. Marcus Cornelius Armstrong (born 29 July 2000) is a New Zealand motor racing driver. He is due to compete in IndyCar on road and street courses with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2023.
