2020 Malawian Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in Malawi on 23 June 2020, having originally been scheduled for 19 May and later 2 July. They followed the annulment of the results of the 2019 presidential elections, in which Peter Mutharika of the Democratic Progressive Party had received the most votes. The result of the re-run elections was a victory for Lazarus Chakwera of the Malawi Congress Party, who defeated Mutharika by margin of 59% to 40%. The elections were hailed by observers as being both free and fair. Henry Tumukunde
Henry Tumukunde is a politician and retired senior military officer of the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF). He ran as an independent for president in the 2021 Ugandan general election. He was the Minister of National Security in the Cabinet of Uganda, appointed to that position on 6 June 2016. On 4 March 2018, he was relieved of his duties in an unexpected cabinet reshuffle. He is also an advocate of the High Court of Uganda. Chishimba Kambwili
Chishimba Kambwili (born 3 June 1969) is a former member of the National Assembly of Zambia for Roan Constituency (2006 - 2019) in Luanshya District. He has also held several posts in the cabinet. He is the former leader of the National Democratic Congress. He was born in Luanshya where he subsequently completed his education. Kambwili was also the National Youth Chairman for the Patriotic Front until December 2015. National Democratic Congress (Zambia)
National Democratic Congress (NDC) is a political party in Zambia. It was formed by former Information minister Chishimba Kambwili after he was fired from the ruling Patriotic Front by President Edgar Lungu in 2016. Kambwili had been a fierce critic of President Lungu since he was relieved off his duties in 2016. In 2018, the NDC was banned from holding public meetings and Kambwili was arrested for inciting public violence. Zitto Zuberi Ruyagwa Kabwe was born on 24 September 1976 in the village of Mwandiga, Kigoma district, Tanzania. He is popularly known as Zitto Kabwe, and is a Tanzanian politician.
