The 2020 Leinster Senior Football Championship Final was played at Croke Park in Dublin on 21 November 2020. It was contested by Dublin and Meath. Dublin won a tenth consecutive title. Background The game was held on a date originally intended for the second test of the 2020 International Rules Series. That event was cancelled in April 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic in the Republic of Ireland, which also led to the delayed championship. The GAA had proposed to hold a memorial ahead of the second test in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Bloody Sunday massacre, which saw fourteen civilians killed at a football match at Croke Park during the Irish War of Independence. The 2020 Leinster Senior Football Championship is the 2020 iteration of Leinster Senior Football Championship organised by Leinster GAA. The tournament was won by Dublin, their 59th Leinster championship, and tenth in a row, en route to their sixth consecutive All-Ireland title. Teams The Leinster championship was contested by 11 of the 12 county teams in Leinster, a province of Ireland. Kilkenny was the only county team not to compete. 2020 Munster Senior Football Championship Final
The 2020 Munster Senior Football Championship Final was played at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork on 22 November 2020. It was contested by Tipperary and Cork. Tipperary won a first title since 1935, doing so in the home ground of their opponent. This was also the first time since 1992 that neither Cork nor Kerry won the competition. Pre-match The game was held amid the COVID-19 pandemic in the Republic of Ireland, which also led to the delayed championship. To mark the centenary of Bloody Sunday, Tipperary wore special commemorative jerseys in white and green for the game, a replica of the colours worn by the Tipperary team which played Dublin at Croke Park in 1920. The 2020 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final was the 133rd final of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship and the culmination of the 2020 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. Andy McEntee is a Gaelic football manager. He has been the manager of the Antrim county team since 2022. He managed his native Meath between 2016 and 2022. Shane McEntee is a Gaelic footballer who plays in midfield for St Peters Dunboyne and the Meath county team. He has captained his county. His cousin James plays behind him in defence for Meath. He is an officer in the Defence Forces. McEntee played for Meath in the final of the 2012 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship, with Meath being managed by his father Andy. Dessie Farrell is an Irish Gaelic football coach and former player. He has been manager of the Dublin county team since 2019. A former All Star Gaelic footballer who played at senior level for Dublin county team for nearly 15 years, he retired from county football in 2005 and spent another four years playing with his club Na Fianna.
