Arne Holmgren
Arne Holmgren (21 December 1940 — 6 January 2020) was a Swedish biochemist known as a redox pioneer. He studied medicine at Uppsala University in 1962 and became a medical student. He received his Ph.D. in 1968 from the Karolinska Institute (KI) where he became associate professor in 1969, and became a certified doctor in 1974. In the years 1970-1973, Holmgren was a senior lecturer in medical chemistry and 1973-1982 a research lecturer and assistant professor of medical chemistry. He was appointed professor of medical protein chemistry and enzymology at KI in 1983, and in 1991 professor of biochemistry and director of the Department of Biochemistry at the Medical Nobel Institute, KI. Holmgren's research pioneered the structure and function of thioredoxin and thioredoxin reductase and discovered glutaredoxins. ''Winter Light'' ( sv, Nattvardsgästerna, lit=The Communicants) is a 1963 Swedish drama film written and directed by Ingmar Bergman and starring his regulars, Gunnar Björnstrand, Ingrid Thulin and Max von Sydow. It follows Tomas Ericsson (Björnstrand), pastor of a small rural Swedish church, as he deals with an existential crisis and his Christianity. The film is the second in a series of thematically related films, following '' Through a Glass Darkly'' (1961) and followed by '' The Silence'' (1963); this is sometimes considered a trilogy. In it, Bergman reconsiders ''Through a Glass Darkly''s argument that God is love, and repeated the prior film's reference to God as a monstrous spider. She made her debut during her time as a student at the University College of Opera in 1955 as Rosina in Rossini's '' Barberaren i Sevilla''. Gunnar Svensson (27 June 1956 – 31 January 2020) was a Swedish people, Swedish ice hockey player, Coach (ice hockey), head coach and sports agent. During his playing career Svensson played for Örnsköldsvik and IF Björklöven. He began his coaching career in Örnsköldsvik before signing on to IK Vita Hästen. Svensson coached his first and only Swedish Hockey League, Elitserien club when he signed on a five-year contract with Djurgårdens IF Hockey, Djurgårdens IF in 1984. Svensson's first season in Djurgården went well, the team won the league and beat Färjestads BK in the semifinals. However, Södertälje SK proved to be too hard in the final and became Swedish champions. The following season was quite the opposite; Djurgården was close to being relegated, and Svensson was subsequently fired on 26 January 1986. The National Police Commissioner of Sweden ( sv, rikspolischef) is the head of the Swedish Police Authority, appointed by the Government, responsible for all activities of the police. The current Commissioner is Anders Thornberg, who began serving February 15, 2018. Holger Axel Gustaf Romander (6 March 1921 – 25 January 2020) was a Swedish civil servant. He served as the Prosecutor-General of Sweden from 1966 to 1978 and as the National Police Commissioner from 1978 to 1987. Career Romander was born on 6 March 1921 in Boden, Sweden, the son of lieutenant colonel Nils Romander and his wife Ester (née Steinbeck). He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Stockholm in 1943 and a Candidate of Law degree in 1946. Romander became a public prosecutor in Göta Court of Appeal in 1949 and served as notary and secretary of the 1st Standing Committee on Laws (''Lagutskottet'') from 1952 to 1955.
