2020 European Figure Skating Championships
The 2020 European Figure Skating Championships were held in Graz, Austria, on 20–26 January 2020. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pairs, and ice dance. The competition determined the entry quotas for each federation at the 2021 European Championships. Qualification Age and minimum TES requirements The competition is open to skaters from all European member nations of the International Skating Union. The corresponding competition for non-European skaters is the 2020 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships. Skaters are eligible for the 2020 European Championships if they turned 15 years of age before 1 July 2019 and have met the minimum technical elements score requirements. The ISU accepts scores if they were obtained at senior-level ISU-recognized international competitions at least 21 days before the first official practice day of the championships. ISU Figure Skating Championships
The International Skating Union organizes six annual Championships for figure skating. It is at the discretion of each member country which skaters, pairs or synchronized skating teams are sent to which championship. No skater in men's single skating, women's single skating, pair skating and ice dancing can compete at all four competitions in one season, but some skaters have competed at all four over the course of their careers. International Figure Skating
Figure skating is a sport with participants across the world. Originally based in North America and Europe, the sport has experienced a major expansion in the countries of East Asia. Miriam Ziegler (born 19 March 1994) is a retired Austrian pair skater. With her skating partner, Severin Kiefer, she is a seven-time Austrian national champion (2014–16, 2018, 2020–22) and represented Austria at the 2014, 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics. Olga Mikutina
Olga Romanovna Mikutina ( uk, Ольга Романівна Мікутіна; born 6 October 2003) is a Ukrainian-Austrian figure skater who competes for Austria. She is a two-time Austrian national champion (2020–2021), as well as a two-time Austrian national junior champion (2019–2020). Internationally, she has represented the country at the European and World championships. Career Early life and career Mikutina was born on 6 October 2003 in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Her father, Roman, is a hockey player. She took up skating in 2007 at the age of four. She began her skating career competing for her native Ukraine and, by age 12, was already a three-time Ukrainian youth national champion. Maurizio Zandron (born 15 November 1992) is an Italian-born figure skater who currently competes for Austria; he previously represented Italy until 2018. He is the winner of several medals in international competition, including gold at the 2016 Denkova-Staviski Cup, 2018 Bavarian Open, and 2018 Sofia Trophy. Tina Garabedian ( hy, Թինա Կարապետյան; born June 13, 1997) is a retired Armenian-Canadian ice dancer. She and her partner Simon Proulx-Sénécal represented Armenia at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Personal life Tina Garabedian was born on June 13, 1997, in Laval, Quebec, Canada. She is one of three daughters of Maral Dermeguerditchian and John Garabedian, both born in Lebanon. She attended L'École Arménienne Sourp Hagop up to grade 7 and then switched to Collège Gérald-Godin with a sports-study program to accommodate her skating schedule. Anastasiya Georgievna Galustyan ( hy, Անաստասիա Գալուստյան, russian: Анастасия Георгиевна Галустян, born 25 June 1999) is a Russian-Armenian figure skater who represents Armenia in ladies' singles. The free dance (FD) is a segment of an ice dance competition, the second contested. It follows the rhythm dance (RD). Skaters perform "a creative dance program blending dance steps and movements expressing the character/rhythm(s) of the dance music chosen by the couple".S&P/ID 2022, p. 143 Its duration is four minutes for senior ice dancers, and 3.5 minutes for juniors. Rhythm Dance
The rhythm dance (RD) is the first segment of an ice dance competition. The International Skating Union (ISU) renamed the short dance to the "rhythm dance" in June 2018, prior to the 2018–2019 season. It became part of international competitions in July 2018.
