2020 3. Divisjon
The 2020 3. divisjon (referred to as Norsk Tipping-ligaen for sponsorship reasons) was scheduled to be a fourth-tier Norwegian football league season. The league was supposed to consist of 84 teams divided into 6 groups of 14 teams each and should have begun on 13 April 2020. The league should have been played as a double round-robin tournament, where all teams would play 26 matches. In mid-July it was decided to bar all B teams ("2" teams) from promotion. As reserve players in professional clubs, they would have had the chance to train since May 2020, whereas the amateur teams were not allowed to train all spring and summer as a precaution during the COVID-19 pandemic in Norway. The 2020 season was cancelled on 18 September. Team changes The following teams have changed division since the 2019 season. The 2020 season was the 115th season of competitive association football, football in Norway. The season was originally scheduled to start on 4 April, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Norway the football season was delayed. On 7 May 2020, the Norwegian government allowed the league to start on 16 June 2020. The men's 3. divisjon and women's 2. divisjon (women), 2. divisjon, along with all other lower divisions, were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020 Norwegian Football Cup, men's football cup was also cancelled. Eidsvold Turnforening is a Norwegian sport club from Eidsvoll, Akershus. It has sections for association football, team handball, track and field, gymnastics and speed skating. Kongsvinger IL Toppfotball is a Norwegian football club from the town of Kongsvinger in Innlandet, founded in 1892. Its home ground is Gjemselund Stadion. Norwegian reserve football teams compete at all levels of league football within the Norwegian football league system apart from the top two divisions, Eliteserien and 1. divisjon. The highest league these teams can currently enter is the 2. divisjon, set at the third tier of the league system. The reserve teams are attached to their first teams with a "2" suffix and must play in a lower league than the first team. Furthermore, if a club's first team plays in the 1. divisjon, the reserves team cannot play in the 2. divisjon either. If a reserve team ends up at a promotion spot when it is not allowed to be promoted, the promotion is awarded to best following team in the league standings which is allowed to be promoted. FK Gjøvik-Lyn is a Norwegian football club based in Gjøvik, which was founded on 1 February 1902 as Sportsklubben Thor. They play in the Norwegian Second Division, the third highest division in the Norwegian football league system. Their home ground is Gjøvik Stadion. Gjelleråsen Idrettsforening is a Norway, Norwegian sports club from Gjelleråsen in Nittedal, founded 6 March 1935. It has sections for association football, floorball, human swimming, swimming, gymnastics and skiing. Their club colours are green and white. The women's football team had a stint in the Toppserien in 1996, but was relegated that season. Brumunddal Fotball is the football section of the Norwegian alliance sports club Brumunddal IL, located in Brumunddal, Hedmark. The organizational independency of the football section dates from 2003, although its parent club was founded in 1895. The men's football team currently plays in the 3. divisjon, the fourth tier of Norwegian football. History The team played in the Third Division, but after being relegated in 1995 it languished in the Fourth Division. Its return to the Third Division in 1998 also became short-lived. Idrettsforeningen Fløya is a Norway, Norwegian football (soccer), football club from the city of Tromsø. The club was founded on 22 June 1922 and named after the Fløya mountain which overlooks Tromsø centre.
