2019–20 Tahiti Cup
The 2019–20 Tahiti Cup (also known as Coupe de Polynésie or Coupe Tahiti Nui) is the 81st edition of the national cup in Tahitian football. A.S. Vénus are the defending champions. The winner will earn the right to represent Tahiti in the 2020–21 Coupe de France, entering at the seventh round. The 2020–21 Tahiti Cup (also known as Coupe de Polynésie or Coupe Tahiti Nui) is the 82nd edition of the national cup in Tahitian football. A.S. Vénus are the title holders, having won the 2018–19 Tahiti Cup, since the 2019–20 edition was cancelled due the COVID-19 pandemic. In the final, A.S. Vénus defended the title, after defeating A.S. The Tahiti Cup (also known as Coupe de Polynésie or Coupe de Tahiti Nui) is the premier football knockout tournament in French Polynesia. It was created in 1938, and gives the winner of the tournament a berth in the Coupe de France. Between the years 2001 and 2006 two cup competitions were held in parallel. 2020–21 Coupe De France
The 2020–21 Coupe de France was the 104th season of the main football cup competition of France. The competition was organised by the French Football Federation (FFF) and is normally open to all clubs in French football, as well as clubs from the overseas departments and territories ( Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Martinique, Mayotte, New Caledonia, Tahiti, Réunion, Saint Martin, and Saint Pierre and Miquelon). Due to the travel restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the club from Saint Pierre and Miquelon did not progress beyond the second round and qualifying clubs from New Caledonia and Tahiti did not participate. The competition was paused on 28 October 2020, when France entered a second period of lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tahiti Ligue 1
The Tahitian Ligue 1 is the top division of the Fédération Tahitienne de Football in French Polynesia. The league is currently named Ligue 1 Vini for sponsorship reasons. Competition format Competition is divided into a regular season and play-offs. The regular season is a league format. At the end of the regular season the top 6 teams – and in past seasons the winners of the Moorea island league – enter a play-off league to determine the overall champions and qualifiers for the OFC Champions League. Meanwhile, the lower teams enter a separate play-off league along with teams from Ligue 2 to determine promotion and relegation for the following season. The league has a point scoring system whereby teams are awarded 4 points for a win, 2 points for a draw and 1 point for a defeat. Mo'orea
Moorea ( or ; Tahitian: ), also spelled Moorea, is a volcanic island in French Polynesia. It is one of the Windward Islands, a group that is part of the Society Islands, northwest of Tahiti. Marquesas Islands
The Marquesas Islands (; french: Îles Marquises or ' or '; Marquesan: ' ( North Marquesan) and ' ( South Marquesan), both meaning "the land of men") are a group of volcanic islands in French Polynesia, an overseas collectivity of France in the southern Pacific Ocean. Raiatea
Raiatea or Ra'iatea ( Tahitian: ''Ra‘iātea'') is the second largest of the Society Islands, after Tahiti, in French Polynesia. The island is widely regarded as the "centre" of the eastern islands in ancient Polynesia and it is likely that the organised migrations to the Hawaiian Islands, New Zealand and other parts of East Polynesia started at Raiatea.
