2019–20 Missouri Valley Conference Men's Basketball Season
The 2019–20 Missouri Valley Conference men's basketball season began with practices in October 2019, followed by the start of the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season on November 5, 2019. Conference play began in late December 2019 and concluded in March with the Missouri Valley Conference tournament at Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Northern Iowa captured the regular season title at 14–4. Bradley defeated Valparaiso in the championship game to win the Missouri Valley Conference tournament and thereby would have received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Northern Iowa, by virtue of winning the regular season title, but not winning the conference tournament, would have received the conference's automatic bid to the National Invitational tournament. Brian Wardle (basketball)
Brian Wardle (born October 9, 1979) is an American college basketball coach and the current men's basketball coach at Bradley University. Biography Born in Clarendon Hills, Illinois, Wardle played for Marquette from 1997–2001, ending his career as the third-leading scorer in school history. As a senior, he averaged 18.8 points per game. After college, Wardle played in the NBA Developmental League and the Continental Basketball Association. He was director of basketball operations at Marquette from 2003–2005 and an assistant coach at UW-Green Bay from 2005–2010. After the 2009-2010 season, Wardle was named head coach at UW-Green Bay. Bryan Mullins
Bryan Mullins (born January 13, 1987) is a former American basketball player and current college basketball coach. He is currently head coach of the Southern Illinois Salukis men's basketball team. Playing career Mullins was a four-year letterwinner at Southern Illinois for coach Chris Lowery where he was part of the Salukis' Sweet 16 run in the 2007 NCAA tournament. He was also a two-time Academic All-American at the school, as well as a two-time Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Following graduation, Mullins played four years of professional basketball in France. Coaching career After retiring from professional basketball, Mullins joined Porter Moser's staff at Loyola, rising the ranks from director of basketball operations up to associate head coach. The Loyola Ramblers men's basketball team represents Loyola University Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. The Ramblers participate as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. Barry Hinson
Barry Douglas Hinson (born May 12, 1961) is an American college basketball coach and most recently was the head coach of the Southern Illinois Salukis men's basketball team (SIU). He was born in Marlow, Oklahoma. Before SIU he was the Director of Men's Basketball Operations at the University of Kansas, head coach of Missouri State University and head coach of Oral Roberts University. The Southern Illinois Salukis men's basketball team represents Southern Illinois University Carbondale in Carbondale, Illinois. The 2020 National Invitational Tournament was to be a single-elimination tournament of 32 NCAA Division I men's college basketball teams not been selected to participate in the 2020 NCAA tournament.
