2019–20 Liga IV Harghita
The 2019–20 Liga IV Harghita was the 52nd season of Liga IV Harghita, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. The season began on 28 August 2019 and was scheduled to end in June 2020, but was suspended in March because of the COVID-19 pandemic in Romania. The season was ended officially on 14 July 2020 after AJF Harghita (County Football Association) concluded that the teams cannot meet the medical conditions imposed by the medical protocol. The teams ranked first in the two series, Sporting Odorheiu Secuiesc and Gheorgheni were declared county champions. For promotion play-off qualifies Gheorgheni because the team from Odorheiu Secuiesc does not have C.I.S. (Sports Identity Certificate) issued by the Ministry of Youth and Sports required to play in Liga III. Liga IV Harghita is the regional Liga IV football division for clubs in Harghita County, România, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. It is organized by the County Football Association (Asociația Județeană de Fotbal) and is competed amongst 24 teams, the winner is promoted to Liga III after a promotion play-off. Also, the number of relegated team from the Liga IV – Harghita is variable and depends on the number of teams relegated from the Liga III. History In 1968, along with the territorial reorganization of the country, but also due to the large number of requests, Romanian Football Federation, FRF proposes a competitive system in which each county has its own football championship, which will activate the former teams in the regional championship as well as the racing and town championship teams from the previous edition. Liga V
Liga V is the fifth level of the Romanian football league system. Current format Liga V has 42 divisions. The divisions are regionalised and are organised by every county association. Each team plays in their own county. The county associations decide how many teams play in the league and how many matches each side plays. In Romania the most frequently used system is one division with matches played home and away. A number of associations prefer 2 or even 3 parallel divisions.
