2019–20 Hyderabad FC Season
The 2019–20 Hyderabad FC season was the first ever competitive season in the club's history and the inaugural season in the Indian Super League. Background The Hyderabad FC replaced the FC Pune City in 2019 and will debut in the 2019–20 Indian Super League season. FC Pune City was dissolved after the 2018–19 season due to prolonged financial and technical troubles. The franchise was taken over by Vijay Madduri, a Hyderabad based entrepreneur, and Varun Tripuraneni, the former CEO of the Kerala Blasters. The owners decided to move the franchise to their home city of Hyderabad. The club was announced on 27 August 2019. The Hyderabad FC will be the first club from Hyderabad to feature in the Indian Super League. Hyderabad Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Hyderabad, Telangana. The club competes in the Indian Super League, the top flight of Indian football. Founded on 27 August 2019, the club replaced Pune City after they were disbanded and their franchise rights were sold to Telangana businessman Vijay Madduri and former Kerala Blasters CEO Varun Tripuraneni. Later, actor Rana Daggubati stepped in as one of the co-owners. The club began their first professional season in October 2019. On 16 June 2020, German club Borussia Dortmund struck a partnership deal with the club for grassroots development. Manuel Márquez Roca is the current Hyderabad head coach, taking over on 31 August 2020 replacing Albert Roca who went to FC Barcelona as a ''fitness coach''. Kamaljit Singh (born 28 December 1995) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for East Bengal in the Indian Super League. Career Singh started his career with the AIFF Academy before signing for Sporting Clube de Goa in 2014. He made his debut for the side on 29 October 2014 against United in the Durand Cup. He played the full 90 minutes in goal as Sporting Goa won the match 3–2. He then made his official professional debut for the Goan club on 6 November 2014 during the Durand Cup semi-finals against Pune. He once again played the full-match in goal as Sporting Goa fell 1–2. Gurtej Singh "Nanna" (born 18 December 1989) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a defender for I-League club Delhi. Personal life Born and brought up in Ropar (now known as Rupnagar) in Punjab, Gurtej took interest in football in the sixth grade, thanks to his father. A fan of Jagatjit Cotton & Textile Football Club (JCT), Gurtej's father took him to the stadiums. Singh would attend matches of JCT and enjoyed watching Baichung Bhutia and I.M. Vijayan play. Matthew Shaun Kilgallon (born 8 January 1984) is an English former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Kilgallon began his career at Leeds United, where he came through the youth set up before becoming a fixture in their first team.
