2019–20 Ford Trophy
The 2019–20 Ford Trophy was the 49th season of The Ford Trophy, the List A cricket tournament in New Zealand. It was the ninth in a sponsorship deal between New Zealand Cricket and Ford Motor Company. It took place between November 2019 and February 2020. As per the previous edition of the competition, the tournament featured ten rounds of matches. Wellington were the defending champions. Following the conclusion of the group stage, Auckland advanced directly to the final, with Canterbury and Otago progressing to the elimination final. In the elimination final, Otago beat Canterbury by six runs to progress to the final. In the final, Auckland beat Otago by two wickets to win the tournament. Fitzherbert Park
Fitzherbert Park is a cricket ground in Palmerston North in New Zealand, a home ground of the Central Districts. In February 2000, New Zealand Women defeated England Women at the ground. The ground is situated on Fitzherbert Avenue in the parklands beside the Manawatū River. Known originally just as the Sportsground, it was renamed Fitzherbert Park in 1973. Re-development With the development of NZC Warrant of Fitness (WOF) and increasing expectations of the modern game Fitzherbert Park lost their NZC WOF due to the lack of effective irrigation to the outfield in droughty summers causing a brown bumpy outfield that first class players did not like. Chad Jayson Bowes (born 19 October 1992 at Benoni, Gauteng, Transvaal in South Africa) is a South African born New Zealand cricketer who captained the South Africa Under-19 cricket team and played for the domestic side KwaZulu-Natal. Andrew Malcolm Ellis (born 24 March 1982) is a New Zealand former international cricketer, who played in One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). George Herrick Worker (born 23 August 1989) is a New Zealand international cricketer. Brent Fraser "Billy" Bowden (born 11 April 1963) is a cricket umpire from New Zealand. He was a player until he began to suffer from rheumatoid arthritis.
