2019–20 Eastern Washington Eagles Men's Basketball Team
The 2019–20 Eastern Washington Eagles men's basketball team represented Eastern Washington University during the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Led by third-year head coach Shantay Legans, the Eagles were members of the Big Sky Conference and played their home games on campus at Reese Court in Cheney, Washington. They finished the regular season at 23–8 (16–4 in Big Sky, first). As the top seed in the conference tournament, they were slated to play ninth-seeded Sacramento State in the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 12, but the tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, along with the rest of the NCAA postseason. Previous season The Eagles finished the 2018–19 season at 16–18 (12–8 in Big Sky, third). Shantay Legans
Shantay Andrade Legans (born July 30, 1981) is an American college basketball coach who is currently men's basketball head coach at Portland Pilots men's basketball, Portland. Legans grew up in Goleta, California and played college basketball at California Golden Bears men's basketball, California and Fresno State Bulldogs men's basketball, Fresno State. He briefly played professional basketball in the Netherlands before beginning a coaching career. From 2007 to 2009, Legans was an assistant coach at the Laguna Blanca School. Legans then was an assistant coach at Eastern Washington under head coaches Kirk Earlywine and Jim Hayford during a period where Eastern Washington turned around from a losing program to one of the top teams in the Big Sky Conference. BYU Cougars Men's Basketball
The BYU Cougars men's basketball team represents Brigham Young University in NCAA Division I basketball play. Established in 1902, the team has won 27 conference championships, 3 conference tournament championships and 2 NIT Tournaments (1951 and 1966), and competed in 29 NCAA tournaments. It currently competes in the West Coast Conference. From 1999–2011, the team competed in the Mountain West Conference. Richland High School is a public secondary school in the northwest United States, located in Richland, Washington. The school was founded as Columbia High School in 1910 to serve the educational needs of the small town of Richland. The building was replaced with a much larger structure by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1946 as the development of the neighboring Hanford Engineering Works brought an influx of employees to the region to support the war effort.
