Dhaka North City Corporation
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) or Dhaka Uttar City Corporation was created as an autonomous body that governs 54 northern wards of Dhaka to better manage local services, but has since added new areas. It is one of two municipal corporations in Dhaka, the other being Dhaka South City Corporation. Annisul Huq was the first mayor of the Dhaka North City Corporation, after being elected in April 2015. Md. Atiqul Islam is the current mayor of DNCC since 7 March 2019. The area was 82.69 km2 until 2017 when it underwent expansion to 197 km2. Bhola (town)
Bhola ( bn, ভোলা) is a town and district headquarter of Bhola District in the Barishal Division, division of Barishal, Bangladesh. Administration Bhola sub-division was established under the Noakhali district in 1845. At that time its administrative center was at Amania of Daulatkhan. The sub-division was included in the Barisal district in 1869. The sub-division then consisted of Daulatkhan and Burhanuddin Hat Thanas and three outposts such as Taltali, Gazipur, and Tazumuddin. The sub-divisional headquarters was shifted from Daulatkhan to Bhola in 1876. It was elevated to a district on 1 February 1984. The Bangladesh Chhatra League ( bn, বাংলাদেশ ছাত্রলীগ; translation: Bangladesh Students' League; BSL), formerly known as the East Pakistan Student League, often simply called the Chhatra League, is a students' political organisation in Bangladesh, founded by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on 4 January 1948. Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, commonly known by the acronym BUET, is a public technological research university in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Founded in 1876 as the Dacca Survey School, it is the oldest institution for the study of engineering, architecture and urban planning in Bangladesh. A large number of BUET alumni are active in notable engineering and non-engineering roles in Bangladesh and abroad. 2019 Dengue Outbreak In Bangladesh
The 2019 dengue outbreak in Bangladesh is a nationwide occurrence of dengue fever in Bangladesh that began primarily in April 2019 and is still ongoing. According to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 14 people have died and 19,513 people have been affected as of 1 August 2019, majority of whom are children. Although other sources are reporting the death toll has already passed 50. On 1 August 2019, DGHS confirmed the outbreak affecting all districts of the country. Additionally, it reported 1,712 newly infected patients in the preceding 24 hours which is also the largest number of infected people on record in a single day. According to official source, roughly 71 more people are being infected in dengue fever every hour.
