2019 World Series Of Poker
The 2019 World Series of Poker was the 50th annual tournament, and took place from May 28 – July 16, 2019 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. There were 90 bracelet events. To celebrate the 50th WSOP there was a $50,000 No Limit Hold'em event as well as the Big 50, a $500 buy-in No Limit Hold'em event with a guaranteed $5 million prize pool and $1 million for the winner. There was also a tournament open only to past WSOP bracelet winners. A short deck tournament was also held for the first time. All No Limit Hold'em events employed the Big Blind Ante format. The $10,000 No Limit Hold'em Main Event began on July 3 and concluded on July 16. The structure of the Main Event was changed, with players now receiving 60,000 chips at the start of the tournament, up from 50,000 in 2018. The Rio is a hotel and casino near the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, Paradise, Nevada, United States. It is owned by Dreamscape Companies LLC and operated by Eldorado Resorts, Caesars Entertainment. It includes a casino and 2,520 suites. It features a Brazilian theme based on Rio Carnival. Shannon Shorr (born June 7, 1985, in Birmingham, Alabama) is a professional poker player from Birmingham, Alabama. Shorr was a baseball player at Shades Valley High School. Upeshka De Silva is a Sri Lankan-American professional poker player from Katy, Texas. A three-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner, in 2020 he made the final table of the WSOP Main Event. Joseph Cheong
Sanghyon "Joseph" Cheong (born June 3, 1986) is a Korean-American professional poker player who is a World Series of Poker bracelet winner and a former finalist at the WSOP Main Event. Cheong was born in Seoul, South Korea before moving to the United States at the age of 6. He earned degrees in psychology, math and economics from the University of California, San Diego. David Bach is a professional poker player, and the winner of the $50,000 World Championship HORSE (poker), H.O.R.S.E. event at the 2009 World Series of Poker. Greg Mueller
Greg Mueller (born June 2, 1971) is a German and Canadian professional poker player and former professional ice hockey defenceman. Mueller was born in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. He began playing professional ice hockey in 1992 and played his entire career in Germany, playing the Eishockey-Bundesliga for EC Hedos München and the Deutsche Eishockey Liga for Maddogs München and Ratinger Löwen. Michael David Mizrachi (born January 5, 1981) is an American professional poker player who won the 2010, 2012 and 2018 World Series of Poker $50,000 Players Championship. James Gary Bechtel (born 1952) is an American cotton farmer and poker player, now based in Gilbert, Arizona. He is best known for winning the 1993 Main Event at the World Series of Poker (WSOP). At the time of his WSOP win, he lived in Coolidge, Arizona.
