2019 Winnipeg Blue Bombers Season
The 2019 Winnipeg Blue Bombers season was the 62nd season for the team in the Canadian Football League (CFL) and their 87th season overall. This was the sixth season under head coach Mike O'Shea and the sixth full season under general manager Kyle Walters. The Blue Bombers qualified for the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season on September 21, 2019 following an Ottawa Redblacks loss. The club later would go on to win their 11th Grey Cup championship and their first since the 1990 Grey Cup championship game, ending what was the longest active Grey Cup drought. Canadian Football League West Division
The West Division is one of the two regional divisions of the Canadian Football League (CFL), its counterpart being the East Division (CFL), East Division. Although the CFL was not founded until 1958, the West Division and its clubs are descended from earlier leagues. The five teams in the West Division are the BC Lions, Calgary Stampeders, Edmonton Elks, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. Thiadric Hansen (born December 26, 1992) is a German professional Canadian football linebacker for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Professional career Early career Hansen first played for the Flensburg Sealords in the Oberliga before joining the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes in 2012. He played for the Hurricanes for seven years and was the club's all-time leading tackler. Placekicker, or simply kicker (PK or K), is the player in gridiron football who is responsible for the kicking duties of field goals and extra points. In many cases, the placekicker also serves as the team's kickoff specialist or punter. Specialized role The kicker initially was not a specialized role. Gabriel Amavizca Ortiz (born January 11, 1993) is a Mexican professional gridiron football placekicker for the Mexicas de la Ciudad de México of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA). He played college football at UDLAP, Universidad Madero and BUAP. In June 2019, Amavizca became the first CFL global player ever to score points in a regular season match. Aztecas UDLAP is the name of the sports teams that represent the Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLAP). American football History In 1947 the team began its life as the American football squad of Mexico City College with the nickname ''los Aztecas''. Dinos de Saltillo (English: ''Saltillo Dinos'') are an American football team based in Saltillo, Mexico.
