2019 San Francisco Giants Season
The 2019 season was the San Francisco Giants' 137th year in Major League Baseball and their 62nd year in San Francisco since their move from New York following the 1957 season. It was their 20th season at Oracle Park and the first under that name following the transfer of naming rights from AT&T. This season was the 13th and last for Bruce Bochy as manager of the Giants. It was the first season since at least 1901 that no Giants pitcher threw a 9 inning complete game. National League West
The National League West is one of Major League Baseball's six divisions. This division was formed for the 1969 season when the National League expanded to 12 teams by adding the San Diego Padres and the Montreal Expos. For purpose of keeping a regular-season of 162 games, half of the teams were put into the new National League East, East Division and half into the new West Division. Within each division, the teams played 18 games each against their five division mates (90 games), and also 12 games against the teams in the opposite division (72 games), totaling 162 games. Geography Despite the geography, the owners of the Chicago Cubs insisted that their team be placed into the East Division along with the teams in New York City, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh. San Francisco Giants Radio Network
The San Francisco Giants Radio Network is the radio network of the San Francisco Giants. There are 15 stations (six AM, four FM, and five FM translators) in the English-language network, including the flagship KNBR/KNBR-FM (104.5 FM and 680 AM). Six stations (one AM and five FM) carry the team's broadcasts in Spanish, including the Spanish-language flagship KSFN (1510 AM), bringing the total number of radio stations carrying Giants baseball to 21. Mike Gerber (baseball)
Michael Jeffrey Gerber (born July 8, 1992) is an American professional baseball outfielder who is currently a free agent. He previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers and San Francisco Giants and in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Chunichi Dragons. Career Gerber was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 40th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft out of Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, Illinois. He did not sign and attended Creighton University to play college baseball. Detroit Tigers Gerber was then drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 15th round of the 2014 MLB Draft. Pablo Emilio Sandoval Reyes (born August 11, 1986) is a Venezuelan-American professional baseball third baseman for the Olmecas de Tabasco of the Mexican League. He previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the San Francisco Giants, Boston Red Sox, and Atlanta Braves. He stands tall, and weighs . Madison Kyle Bumgarner (born August 1, 1989), commonly known by his nickname, "MadBum", is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks of Major League Baseball (MLB). Complete Game
In baseball, a complete game (CG) is the act of a pitcher pitching an entire game without the benefit of a relief pitcher. A pitcher who meets this criterion will be credited with a complete game regardless of the number of innings played—pitchers who throw an entire official game that is shortened by rain will still be credited with a complete game, while starting pitchers who are relieved in extra innings after throwing nine or more innings will not be credited with a complete game.
