2019 San Diego Toreros Football Team
The 2019 San Diego Toreros football team represents the University of San Diego during the 2019 NCAA Division I FCS football season. They are led by seventh-year head coach Dale Lindsey and play their home games at Torero Stadium. They are a member of the Pioneer Football League (PFL). Previous season The Toreros finished the 2018 season 9–3, 8–0 in PFL play to be PFL champions. They earned the PFL's automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs where they lost in the first round to Nicholls. Dale Lindsey
Phillip Dale Lindsey (born January 18, 1943) is an American football coach and former player. He is the head football coach at the University of San Diego. Lindsey has also worked as a coach in the National Football League (NFL), the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the United States Football League (USFL). Early life Lindsey attended and played high school football at Bowling Green, Kentucky#High schools, Bowling Green High School in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where he was an All-State player. College career After high school, Lindsey signed with the University of Kentucky, where he was part of the infamous Thin Thirty team, but quit the team in the spring of his freshman year. Spec Martin Stadium is a 6,000 seat football stadium located in DeLand, Florida. Spec Martin Stadium currently hosts Stetson Hatters football, DeLand High School Bulldog football and was the host of the Central Florida Warriors rugby league team. The stadium was known as DeLand Municipal Stadium from is opening in 1941 until it was renamed in 1973.
