2019 Ronde Van Drenthe
The 13th edition of the Ronde van Drenthe, a women's cycling race in the Netherlands, was held on 17 March 2019. Italian Marta Bastianelli won the race in a three-way sprint before Dutch riders Chantal Blaak and Ellen van Dijk. The race was held over a distance of , starting and finishing in Hoogeveen. The race covered 11 cobbled sections and three ascents of the VAM-berg. It was the second race of the 2019 UCI Women's World Tour. 2019 UCI Women's World Tour
The 2019 UCI Women's World Tour was a competition that included twenty-three road bicycle racing, road cycling events throughout the 2019 in women's road cycling, 2019 women's cycling season. It was the fourth edition of the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2016. The competition began with the 2019 Strade Bianche Women, Strade Bianche on 9 March and concluded with the Tour of Guangxi on 22 October. Team Virtu Cycling Women was a UCI Women's cycling team based in Denmark, that competed between 2015 and 2019. Kirsten Wild
Kirsten Carlijn Wild (born 15 October 1982) is a Dutch former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2004 and 2021, for eight professional teams. During her track cycling career, Wild rode at the Summer Olympic Games in 2012, 2016 and 2020, winning a bronze medal at the latter Games, in the omnium. She won eighteen medals including nine golds at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships, and eighteen medals including eight golds at the UEC European Track Championships. Wild also took over 100 victories in road racing, and won two medals at the UCI Road World Championships. Floortje Mackaij (born 18 October 1995) is a Dutch professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . After switching from speed skating to road cycling she became the 2013 junior Dutch National time trial Champion and won a silver medal in the junior time trial at the 2013 European Road Championships. In the same year she represented her country at the UCI Road World Championships in the junior time trial and road race. Amalie Dideriksen (born 24 May 1996) is a Danish road and track cyclist, who rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Career She won the junior women's road race at the World Championships in 2013 and 2014 as well as a bronze medal in the scratch race at the 2013 UCI Juniors Track World Championships. In both 2014 and 2015, she won the Danish national road race championship and in 2015, she also won silver in the women's omnium at the European Track Championships. Dideriksen participated in the women's omnium at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Amy Pieters (born 1 June 1991) is a Dutch professional road and track cyclist, who is contracted to ride for UCI Women's WorldTeam . She was a member of the Dutch team that finished sixth at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the team pursuit (together with Ellen van Dijk, Kirsten Wild and Vera Koedooder). On 23 December 2021, Pieters was placed in an induced coma and underwent emergency surgery to relieve pressure on her brain caused by a fall that day during a training ride near Alicante with the Dutch national track team. After being repatriated to the Netherlands the following month, Pieters had regained consciousness in April but, due to the brain injury suffered, doctors were unsure of her "residual symptoms and remaining abilities".
