2019 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference
The 2019 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference is the eight conference of the Premier Volleyball League (''35th conference of the former Shakey's V-League''). The conference started on August 11, 2019 and ended on November 9, 2019 at the Filoil Flying V Centre, San Juan, Metro Manila, Philippines. Philippine Air Force Women's Volleyball Team returned in action and two new teams joined the conference named Chef's Classics Lady Red Spikers and Choco Mucho Flying Titans (second team of Rebisco). Teams will play a double-round robin elimination round to determine the final four teams that will advance to the semifinals. Premier Volleyball League
The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is a women's professional volleyball league in the Philippines organized by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. The league began in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League, a women's collegiate league. Since 2011, the league became open to participation of corporate clubs and other non-collegiate teams. The Spikers' Turf has served as the men's counterpart of the league. History Shakey's V-League (2004–2016) The Premier Volleyball League was established in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. led by Jun Bernardino, Ricky Palou, Moying Martelino, and Rhea Navarro who were businessmen previously known for being men's basketball patrons. Beach Volleyball Republic, Inc. (BVR) is an organization aimed for the development and growth of beach volleyball in the Philippines formed in June 2015. History Co-founded by former Ateneo Lady Eagles volleybelles and current professional players Charo Soriano, Gretchen Ho, Fille Cainglet, Fille Cainglet-Cayetano, Dzi Gervacio and Bea Tan. BVR organized beach volleyball tournaments in different beaches and public places in the Philippines, grassroots development program for the young and aspiring players and the professional circuit tours thru the Beach Royals program, with the first legs held at the SM Sands By the Bay court on June 20 and July 11, 2015. Godfrey Okumu
Godfrey Owese Okumu is a Kenyan volleyball coach. He is also a former player who has played for the Kenyan national volleyball team. Okumu is a native of Nyanza. Playing career As a player, Okumu played for various clubs as well as the Kenyan men's national volleyball team from 1990 to 2003. After his retirement, he moved to Japan.He worked as an English teacher in the Kumamoto Prefecture in 2002 before coaching. The Motolite Volleyball Team is the professional women's volleyball team playing in the Premier Volleyball League. The team is owned by Philippine Batteries Inc. and named after its subsidiary, Motolite Batteries. Alyssa Caymo Valdez (; born June 29, 1993) is a Filipino volleyball player who currently plays for the Creamline Cool Smashers. She was a member of the collegiate varsity women's volleyball team of Ateneo de Manila University in both indoor and beach volleyball. She was most outstanding as an indoor volleyball player where she brought multiple championship titles and a lot of honor for the university. She is a current member of Philippines national team. Anusorn Bundit
Anusorn "Tai" Bundit ( th, อนุสร บัณฑิตย์) is a Thai volleyball coach Career Bundit who became known affectionally as Coach Tai in the Philippines, has coached in his home country of Thailand. He was coach of the country's B national team and a professional club in the Thai premier league. He was a coach of the Thailand women's national team at the 2006 Asian Games which placed fourth. In 2014, Bundit was tasked by the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines to lead its women's team at the UAAP. Despite limited English fluency, he was able to stir the team to win their first ever championship in UAAP Season 76. This was followed by another title in Season 77.
