2019 PDC World Youth Championship
The 2019 PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship was the ninth edition of the PDC World Youth Championship, a tournament organised by the Professional Darts Corporation for darts players aged between 16 and 23. The group stage and knock-out phase from the last 32 to the semi-finals were played at Robin Park Centre, Wigan, on 4 November 2019. The final took place on 24 November 2019 at Butlin's Minehead, before the final of the 2019 Players Championship Finals. Belgium's Dimitri Van den Bergh was the two-time defending champion after defeating Martin Schindler of Germany 6–3 in the 2018 final, but he was unable to defend his title, as he was over the age limit. Luke Humphries won the tournament for the first time with a 6–0 win over Adam Gawlas in the final. Butlin's Minehead
Butlins Resort Minehead is a holiday camp operated by Butlins, located in Minehead in Somerset, England. It opened in 1962 and remains in use today. It was known as Butlin's Minehead until 1987, and as Somerwest World from then until 1999, when it reopened as Butlins Minehead Resort. History In the winter of 1961, Billy Butlin began work on creating a holiday camp in Minehead. The site was selected because of its flatness, good rail links, and proximity to the town and sea. The site was not without its problems, however, including flooding. In order to solve this, a trench was excavated around the site and an earth wall constructed. The trench later became the site's boating pond. The site opened to the public on 26 May 1962, the construction having cost £2 million. Jeffrey De Zwaan
Jeffrey de Zwaan (born 26 March 1996) is a Dutch professional darts player who plays in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Career De Zwaan progressed through to the last 16 of the 2014 World Masters, where he lost 3–0 to Glen Durrant. He won a two-year PDC Tour Card in 2015 by defeating Prakash Jiwa 5–1 in the final round. Keane Barry
Keane Neill Barry (born 25 June 2002) is an Irish professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) and Youth Development Tour events. The highlight of his career was beating Conor Allen in a narrow 2-0 victory in a junior darts event in 2019. He was the World Masters Youth Champion and BDO World Youth Champion. Callan Rydz ( born 3 July 1998, from Newcastle upon Tyne) is a professional England, English darts player who plays in the Professional Darts Corporation events. Darts career At 2018 PDC Q-School he tried to win a tour card, however he missed out on the points table by virtue of countback. He played on the Challenge Tour and Development Tour throughout the year. As a result of his Development Tour exploits, he qualified for the 2018 PDC World Youth Championship and progressed through the early group stage. Ryan Meikle ( born 13 August 1996) is an English professional darts player who plays in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Career Born in Ipswich, Suffolk, Meikle is a barber by trade, hence his nickname of "The Barber". He won a PDC Pro Tour card by qualifying from the second day of Q School in 2016. Geert Nentjes (born 4 September 1998) is a Dutch professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation events. Career In 2018, he qualified for the 2018 UK Open, but was knocked out in the second round by Darryl Pilgrim. Ted Evetts
Ted Evetts (born 3 August 1997) is an English darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He is the 2021 PDC World Youth Champion. Career Evetts plays for his local Super League team and also plays Men's County for Warwickshire as well as being signed on to Warwickshire Youth County. He is also a qualified chef. After competing on the PDC Development Tour in 2014 and 2015, Evetts gained a PDC Pro Tour card on the second day of the 2016 Qualifying School. Evetts was a qualifier for the 2016 Grand Slam of Darts, which was his first televised event. He lost all of three of his group games.
