The 2019 Nadkarni Cup is the 112th season of the Nadkarni Cup, a football competition played in Mumbai, Indiain state of Maharashtra. The 16 teams will play the tournament. Nadkarni Cup
The Nadkarni Cup is a football competition in Mumbai, India, which was first held in 1908. From 1908–1913, it was known as Junior Rovers Cup which was contested by school and college teams of Bombay (now Mumbai), with the trophy originally provided by G.N. Nadkarni. It is hosted by the Mumbai Football Association. The Cup was not held in 1914-1918 due to World War I but was not immediately revived after the war. In 1925, Western India Football Association allocated Junior Rovers Cup trophy to a completely new tournament only for Indian football clubs and then the new tournament was called Nadkarni Cup. Air India Football Club is an Indian professional football club, founded by Anand Prajapati in 1952, based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. They are sponsored by Air India, and have enjoyed some success in the MDFA Elite League. They have also competed in the I-League, then top tier of Indian football league system. The Cooperage Football Ground is a football stadium located in Nariman Point, Mumbai, India. It is currently home to multiple Mumbai Football League clubs. The Western India Football Association has operated from the Cooperage Ground since 1969, and the Mumbai District Football Association holds a small office.
