The 2019 Le Mans Cup, known as the 2019 Michelin Le Mans Cup under sponsorship, was the fourth season of the Le Mans Cup. It began on 13 April at Circuit Paul Ricard and finished on 26 October at the Algarve International Circuit. The series was open to Le Mans Prototypes in the LMP3 class, and grand tourer sports cars in the GT3 class. 2019 European Le Mans Series
The 2019 European Le Mans Series was the sixteenth season of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest's (ACO) European Le Mans Series. The six-event season began at Circuit Paul Ricard on 14 April and finished at Algarve International Circuit on 27 October. The series is open to Le Mans Prototypes, divided into the LMP2 and LMP3 classes, and grand tourer-style racing cars in the LMGTE class. Calendar The provisional calendar for the 2019 season was announced on 21 September 2018. The calendar comprises six events, with the only change from the 2018 season being the addition of a race at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which replaces the Red Bull Ring as the third round of the season. Nicolas Rondet is a former Barber Dodge Pro Series and Atlantic Championship driver from Melle, Deux-Sèvres, France. Career history After he was born in France he grew up in Brazil and started karting. After a short career in karting and single-seaters the young driver switched to touring cars. He won his first season in the French Citroën AX Cup in 1993. The following season Rondet finished fifth in the series. After this success he moved to the United States of America to race in the Skip Barber Western Series. In his second season the French driver won the championship and the Skip Barber Big Scholarship. The scholarship secured him a seat in the 1997 Barber Dodge Pro Series season. The season was successful as he won one race and scored another two podium finishes. Laurents Hörr (born 11 September 1997) is a German racing driver who currently competes in the European Le Mans Series. Career Lower formula Hörr began his open-wheel racing career in 2014, competing in a pair of races with Dutt Motorsport, a team he co-owned with Rolf and Oliver Dutt, in the Formula Renault 1.6 Northern European Cup. The following season, he scored his first open wheel victory at Anderstorp Raceway while competing in the Formula Renault 1.6 Nordic championship. DKR Engineering is a racing team and preparation firm from Luxembourg, which competed in the FIA GT1 World Championship. The company was founded in 2004 by Kendy Janclaes as a branch of the PSI Experience racing team from Belgium. After running PSI's racing programs, DKR began their own programs in 2008, running in the FFSA GT Championship with Corvettes. DKR expanded into the FIA GT Championship in 2009 where PSI had previously competed, running their own program under the Sangari Team Brazil banner and netting a single victory and sixth in the Teams' Championship. Ligier JS P3
The Ligier JS P3 is an LMP3 Le Mans Prototype. It was created by Onroak Automotive, and named in partnership with former French driver Guy Ligier. It was built to meet ACO LMP3 standards, and is active in various LMP3 championships worldwide, such as the European Le Mans Series, IMSA Prototype Challenge, and the Asian Le Mans Series. The car has proven to be immensely popular in the category, with over 100 cars being produced since 2015. It has also proved to be one of the most successful prototypes in the class, with a total of 103 overall wins and class victories from 132 races entered by the car. The Norma M30 is an LMP3-spec sports prototype. The car is built by French constructor Norma Auto Concept and designed by company co-founder Norbert Santos. The Norma M30 won the 2017 Michelin Le Mans Cup in its debut year entered by DKR Engineering. History Development The LMP3 class was launched by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) in 2015.
