2019 LFF I Lyga
The 2019 LFF I Lyga was the 30th season of the I Lyga, the second tier association football league of Lithuania. The season began on 22 March 2019 and finished in 27 October 2019. Licensing process The Lithuanian Football Federation initially granted applications for 2019 LFF I Lyga licenses: FK Banga Gargždai, FK Nevėžis, FC Pakruojis, FC Džiugas, Žalgiris B, Stumbras B, Riteriai B (Trakai B). After the appeal, on 28 February 2019 Lithuanian Football Federation granted licenses to FK Vilnius ( Baltijos Futbolo Akademija), FK Minija Kretinga, DFK Dainava, Vilniaus Vytis, FK Atmosfera (2012), FC Hegelmann Litauen. The final decision on the number of teams in 2019 LFF I Lyga was made by the Lithuanian Football Federation executive committee meeting on 15 March 2019. I Lyga
The I Lyga, LFF I Lyga, Pirma Lyga, is the second tier of professional Lithuanian football championship. Format Organized by the Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF), I Lyga is contested by 14-16 teams, with the top team gaining promotion to A Lyga and replaced by the lowest-placed team in top division and the bottom 4 clubs being relegated to the II Lyga. Starting with the 2016 season, the second-placed team qualifies to promotion play-offs with A Lyga's next-to-last team. The final list of participants often does not correlate to the final results of the previous season, as the participation is finalized through the Lithuanian Football Federation league licensing process. History There were 15 teams competing in the 2017 season. At the end of this season, three teams withdrew from all competitions. In 2018, there were 14 teams that started the championship. FK Atmosfera (2012)
Futbolo klubas Atmosfera, commonly known as Atmosfera, is a Lithuanian football club located in Mažeikiai, in Mažeikiai District. They currently play in the I Lyga, the second tier of Lithuanian football. FK Atmosfera is a phoenix club of Atmosfera Mažeikiai. History Mažeikiai has a deep history of football. Since the mid-20th century, there was a football club that competed at the top tier of the Lithuanian SSR football league, achieving two championship titles during that time. This club changed names frequently, but was named Atmosfera Mažeikiai between 1973 and 1990. Between 1990 and 2012, several clubs in Mažeikiai rose up and fell apart, mostly due to financial circumstances. Alytus
Alytus is a city with municipal rights in southern Lithuania. It is the capital of Alytus County. Its population in 2022 was 53,925. Alytus is the historical centre of the Dzūkija region. FK Koralas Klaipėda
Futbolo klubas Koralas, commonly known as Koralas was a Lithuanian football team from the port city of Klaipėda. History Club was established in 2015. In this season they was in LFF III lyga (4th tier), was leaders for a long time, but finished in third position. Next year, in 2016, they was in LFF II lyga (3rd tier). Was runners-up and got promotion to Pirma lyga (2nd tier). In 2017 team was in Pirma lyga. First half of the season was problematical, but in summer transfer time they get new forces and finished in 6th place. 2018 was problematical. After losing 0–12 to FC Kupiškis they was retired until second half of the season. After summer they won once, but ater lost games against "Nevėžis" 0–9 and Panevėžys 0–10. finally, on 19 September 2018 club was dissolved from Pirma lyga competition. II Lyga
Lithuanian Football Federation's II lyga, LFF II lyga – the third tier Lithuanian football championship. As of 2021, the II lyga is a single league, consisting of planned 16 teams. The two top teams gain promotion to the I Lyga. Until the end of 2020 season the league consisted of the Southern Zone and the Western Zone. The Northern Zone and the Eastern Zone existed in some past seasons, but were done away with due to the dwindling number of participating clubs. League Structure Southern Zone The zone has existed since 1999 until 2020. Kaunas County Football Federation was in charge of the competition in this zone. FK NFA
Be1 NFA is a football team, which based in Kaunas, Lithuania. History The National Football Academy was established in 2006. In 2012 it was founded for the team, I Lyga. In that season they were in 6th places. After the season heads of NFA decided play in 3rd tier. In 2013 the club competed in II Lyga (3rd tier). After the first half of the season the club was in 3rd position. FK NFA withdrew mid season, their license was taken over by FC Stumbras, who went on to win the first place. The head coach of FC Stumbras was son of the president of LFF (Lithuanian Football Federation). In 2017 FK NFA was re-established again. Futbolo klubas Sveikata, commonly known as Sveikata, is a Lithuanian football club located in Kybartai, in Vilkaviškis District. Football Academy of Šiauliai or FA Šiauliai is a Lithuanian football academy from the city of Šiauliai. The team is simply known as "Šiauliai". The academy train women's and men's teams, as well as children's and underage groups in "U" type championships.
