2019 International Swimming League
The 2019 International Swimming League was the inaugural edition of the International Swimming League, a professional swimming league, established in 2019. It comprised eight teams composed of both women and men. The league consisted of seven short course swimming meets which took place in seven cities around the world. The budget for this first edition was $20 million. The France-based team Energy Standard won the inaugural ISL title in the Final Match hosted at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Schedule The schedule consists of six regular-season meets, followed by a Final Match in Las Vegas. At each meet four of the eight teams compete (two from American conference and two from European conference). Two of the meets are 'derby' meet, one for all four American teams and one for all four European teams. The International Swimming League (ISL) is an annual professional swimming league, established in 2019. It features a team-based competition format with fast-paced race sessions. In 2019, the regular season started in October and the Final Match was held in December. Athletes with a history of breaking anti-doping rules are banned from ISL. In March 2022, following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the ISL abruptly cancelled its fourth season and all competition in 2022. Kevin Cordes
Kevin Cordes ( ; born August 13, 1993) is an American competitive swimmer who specializes in breaststroke events. He currently represents the Cali Condors which is part of the International Swimming League. Cordes was a member of the 2016 U.S. Men's Olympic Swimming Team. He won gold in the 4×100 m medley relay as a member of the preliminary relay, and took 4th place in the Men's 100m Breaststroke at the 2016 Olympic Games. He is the former American record holder in the 50-meter and 100-meter breaststroke (long course). Early life and education Cordes was born in Naperville, Illinois in 1993, the son of Bill and Kristin Cordes. Mallory Comerford (born September 6, 1997) is an American competitive swimmer specializing in freestyle events. Comerford was the winner of five gold medals at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships. She won USA Swimming's Golden Goggle Award for Breakout Performer of the Year for 2017. The following year, Comerford won eight medals in individual and relay events at the 2018 World Swimming Championships. She is a member of the Cali Condors swim team, which is part of the International Swimming League. He currently swims for DC Trident in the International Swimming League. London Aquatics Centre
The London Aquatics Centre is an indoor facility with two swimming pools and a diving pool in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, London. The centre, designed by architect Zaha Hadid as one of the main venues of the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2012 Summer Paralympics, was used for the swimming, diving and synchronised swimming events.
