2019 Hobart International
The 2019 Hobart International was a women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 26th edition of the Hobart International and was part of the WTA International tournaments of the 2019 WTA Tour. It took place at the Hobart International Tennis Centre in Hobart, Australia from 7 to 12 January 2019. The singles was won by unseeded American Sofia Kenin who took home her first WTA title after defeating Anna Karolína Schmiedlová from Slovakia in straight sets. In the doubles it was Taiwanese pair in Chan Hao-ching and Latisha Chan who won in three sets over their opponents in Kirsten Flipkens and Johanna Larsson. WTA International Tournaments
The WTA International Tournaments was a category for professional tennis tournaments of the Women's Tennis Association from the 2009 WTA Tour until 2020, which replaced the previous Tier III and Tier IV categories. The winner of a WTA International adds 280 points to her WTA ranking. For the 2020 season, there were 32 tournaments, all knock-out tournaments with a prize money for every event at $275,000 ($775,000 for Shenzhen, and $525,000 for Guangzhou and Hong Kong). Madison Brengle (born April 3, 1990) is an American professional tennis player. Her biggest success she had in early 2015, reaching her first WTA Tour final in January, followed by a fourth round major event appearance at the Australian Open.
