Palace Of Sporting Games
The Palace of Sporting Games "Uralochka" (DIVS) () is a multi-purpose arena on the shore of the Iset River in the city center of Yekaterinburg. It has a capacity of 5000 spectators and is the second largest sports arena in the city, with KRK Uralets being the largest. Volleyball and basketball clubs of men and women, as well as a futsal team play their home games at the arena. Occasionally, competitions in individual sports, rhythmic gymnastics, artistic gymnastics, or tennis take place. Concerts take place in the arena equally often. History For a long time, only one large sports arena existed in Yekaterinburg—the KRK Uraletz (then known as the ''Sport Palace of Trade Unions''), built in 1972. Courtney Vandersloot (born February 8, 1989) is an American and Hungarian basketball point guard for the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and for Sopron Basket in the Hungarian National Championship. The third selection in the 2011 WNBA draft, she was selected as an All-Star and named to the All-Rookie Team in her rookie year. She was named an All-Star again in 2019 and 2021. Özlem Yalman
Özlem Yalman (born 30 April 1977 in Antalya, Turkey) is a Turkish female pro basketball referee, a former basketball player, and a school teacher for physical education. Early years Özlem was born in Adana, Turkey in 1977 to Nezih Yalman, who died in Izmir at age 64 in 2014. She studied Physical Education and Sports at Ege University in Izmir. After graduation, she was appointed teacher for physical education in a school at Antalya, in which she serves as the only instructor for her branch. Sports career Yalman played basketball during her university years, and in Karşıyaka Basket in the Turkish Women's Basketball Second League. Folade Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe (born August 29, 1991) is a Canadian professional basketball player who is currently a free agent. Career College In college, Raincock-Ekunwe attended Simon Fraser University in British Columbia. In her final three years with SFU, she participated in NCAA Division II, where she consistently averaged 18 points a game. Europe After college, Raincock-Ekunwe headed to Europe and signed with Pully Basket in the Swiss LNA. She had a successful season taking home several awards. Erica Wheeler (born May 2, 1991) is an American professional basketball player for the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Wheeler was undrafted out of Rutgers, but eventually made her way into the WNBA in 2015. Early years Wheeler grew up in the Miami neighborhood of Liberty City. Liberty City is one of the worst, most crime-ridden inner cities in America, and Wheeler saw two of her close friends die when she was young. Wheeler attended Parkway Academy and was a member of the basketball team there. College career Wheeler committed to play at Rutgers in 2009.
