2019 Copa Libertadores Final Stages
The 2019 Copa Libertadores final stages were played from 23 July to 23 November 2019. A total of 16 teams competed in the final stages deciding the champions of the 2019 Copa Libertadores, with the final played in Lima, Peru at the Estadio Monumental. Qualified teams The winners and runners-up of each of the eight groups in the group stage advanced to the round of 16. Seeding Starting from the round of 16, the teams are seeded according to their results in the group stage, with the group winners (Pot 1) seeded 1–8, and the group runners-up (Pot 2) seeded 9–16. 2019 Copa Libertadores
The 2019 Copa CONMEBOL Libertadores was the 60th edition of the CONMEBOL Libertadores (also referred to as the ''Copa Libertadores''), South America's premier club football tournament organized by CONMEBOL. Flamengo defeated defending champions River Plate in the final by a 2–1 score to win their second Copa Libertadores title. As champions, they qualified as the CONMEBOL representative at the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar, and earned the right to play against the winners of the 2019 Copa Sudamericana in the 2020 Recopa Sudamericana. Club Libertad is a professional association football, football club based in Asunción, Paraguay that currently plays in the Paraguayan Primera División. The club plays its home games at Estadio Tigo La Huerta; which holds 10,100 people. Founded in 1905, Libertad is the third most successful Paraguayan football club, winning 22 national titles, only behind rivals Club Olimpia, Olimpia and Cerro Porteño. Paraguay observes UTC−04:00 for standard time (PYT), and UTC−03:00 for daylight saving time/summer time (PYST). Daylight saving time Paraguay observes DST under decree 1867 of March 5, 2004. DST ends on the third Sunday of March and starts on the first Sunday of October. In 2007, DST started on October 15, 2006 and ended on March 11, 2007. In 2010, Paraguay changed its own DST rules because of the energy crisis, ending DST on the second Sunday in April, a month later than previous years. Penalty Shoot-out (association Football)
A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds. Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same.
