The 2019 Conference USA Football Championship Game was a college football game played on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, Florida, to determine the 2019 champion of Conference USA (C–USA). The game featured the East division champions Florida Atlantic and the West division champions UAB and was the conference's 15th championship game. With sponsorship from Ryan LLC, a global tax services and software provider, the game was officially the 2019 Ryan Conference USA Football Championship Game. Previous season The 2018 Conference USA Football Championship Game featured East Division champion Middle Tennessee against West Division champion UAB in a rematch of the regular season match up a week before. Howard Schnellenberger Field at FAU Stadium is a college football stadium located at the north end of the main campus of Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Boca Raton, Florida. Opened in 2011, it is home to the Florida Atlantic Owls football team and is intended to be the first part of FAU's multi-use development project, "Innovation Village" as a replacement for Lockhart Stadium After selecting an architect in 2008, the university began to raise funds for the $70 million facility with the intent to begin construction in 2009. The Conference USA Football Championship Game is an annual American football game that has determined the season champion of Conference USA (C-USA) since 2005. History The championship game from 2005–2021, showcased the C-USA East Division regular season champion against the West Division regular season champion. Austin Watkins Jr. (born February 16, 1998) is an American football wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at UAB. Watkins has also been a member of the San Francisco 49ers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Saskatchewan Roughriders, Memphis Showboats, and Birmingham Stallions.
