2019 Bucknell Bison Football Team
The 2019 Bucknell Bison football team represents Bucknell University in the 2019 NCAA Division I FCS football season. They are led by first-year head coach Dave Cecchini and play their home games at Christy Mathewson–Memorial Stadium. They play as a member of the Patriot League. Previous season The Bison finished the 2018 season 1–10, 1–5 in Patriot League play to finish in last place. In January 2019 the Bucknell Athletics Department announced that Joe Susan would be stepping down as head football coach to serve in a new position within the department. Susan compiled a 38−61 record during his nine-year tenure with the Bison, winning the Patriot League Coach of the Year in 2014. Dave Cecchini
Dave Cecchini is an American football coach. He was announced as the 27th head coach for Bucknell University in February 2019. Previously, in 2014, he was hired as head football coach at Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana. Before coming to Valparaiso, Cecchini worked as an assistant coach at Harvard University, The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, and Lehigh University. Cecchini graduated from Lehigh in 1995. The home of several Towson University athletics teams, it is also known as Minnegan Field at Johnny Unitas Stadium or Unitas Stadium. Crown Field at Andy Kerr Stadium is a 10,221-seat multi-purpose stadium in Hamilton, New York, United States. It is the home of Colgate University's football and men's lacrosse teams. Colgate opened the stadium in 1939, originally as Colgate Athletic Field. Colgate's football teams – then known as the Red Raiders and competing at the highest level of NCAA play – were coached during the stadium's inaugural year by Andy Kerr, who led the team from 1929 to 1946.
