2019 American Cup
The 2019 American Cup was part of the World Cup circuit in artistic gymnastics. Participants The top 8 teams from the 2018 World Championships were allowed to send a competitor. If they declined the invite, the next highest ranked team could send a competitor. Marcel Nguyen of Germany withdrew after suffering an injury during practice. Kenzo Shirai of Japan also withdrew due to an ankle injury. Results Women Men Nastia Liukin Cup The 10th annual Nastia Liukin Cup was held in conjunction with the 2019 American Cup. Since its inception in 2010, the competition has always been held on the Friday night before the American Cup, in the same arena. Zoe Miller (gymnast)
Zoe Eliana Miller (born November 11, 2005) is an American artistic gymnast and a member of the United States women's national gymnastics team. At the 2023 Pan American Games, she won gold medals on the uneven bars and in the team event with the United States women's gymnastics team. She was a member of the team who won silver at the 2022 Pan American Gymnastics Championships. Early life Miller was born in Hartford, Connecticut, to Clara and Moulton Miller and has 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Gymnastics Career 2019 In June, Miller competed at the American Classic in the junior division, where she placed fifth in the all-around and on balance beam and placed sixth on the uneven bars. Kiya Johnson (born February 27, 2002) is an American artistic gymnast. She currently competes for the LSU Tigers gymnastics team. Early life Johnson was born on February 27, 2002, in Dallas, Texas, to Carl and Kyesha Johnson. She grew up in Coppell, Texas, where she attended Coppell High School, graduating a year early in 2019. The Nastia Liukin Cup (formerly the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup from 2010–11) is an annual artistic gymnastics competition held in the United States and hosted by Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin. History In August 2009, USA Gymnastics announced that they had partnered with 2008 Olympic champion Nastia Liukin to create a competitive opportunity for the country's top Junior Olympic gymnasts that is intended to serve as a debut for pre-elite competitors on the national stage. The inaugural Nastia Liukin Cup was held in 2010 and had 36 participants. Eligible to compete are Level 10 female gymnasts in both the junior and senior fields. Sanna Veerman (born 29 January 2002) is a Dutch artistic gymnast. She was part of the bronze medal-winning Dutch team at the 2023 European Championships. Early life Veerman was born on 29 January 2002 in Edam-Volendam. She started gymnastics at the age of six. She competed at the 2019 and 2021 World Championships, and she represented South Korea at the 2020 Summer Olympics and at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics.
