The 2018–19 season is Sheffield Wednesday's seventh consecutive season in the Championship. Along with competing in the Championship, the club will also participate in the FA Cup and EFL Cup. Sheffield is a city in South Yorkshire, England, whose name derives from the River Sheaf which runs through it. The city serves as the administrative centre of the City of Sheffield. Glenn Loovens
Glenn Loovens (born 22 September 1983) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Club career Early career Loovens is the son of Hans Loovens, who played for FC Twente. He also has a brother called Ivo. He signed for the Feyenoord youth academy when he was twelve years old, where his teammates included Robin van Persie and Said Boutahar. In 2001, manager Bert van Marwijk promoted him to the first team. Netherlands Loovens came through the Feyenoord youth system and made his debut against PSV Eindhoven in the 2001–02 season in the Feyenoord team that later won the UEFA Cup, alongside Robin van Persie, Civard Sprockel and Ferne Snoyl. In the later seasons, he failed to make good on his promising start as he quickly lost his position in defence to Patrick Paauwe again. Dominic Iorfa (born 24 June 1995) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for Sheffield Wednesday. He is the son of Nigerian international footballer Dominic Iorfa, and represented England at under-21 level. Club career Wolverhampton Wanderers Iorfa was part of the youth system at his local club Southend United before joining the academy of Wolverhampton Wanderers at the age of 15. He moved on a one-month loan to League One Shrewsbury Town on 18 March 2014, and made his senior debut the same day as a substitute in a 0–1 defeat at Colchester. RIASA
The Richmond International Academic and Soccer Academy (RIASA) is an association football academy based in Leeds, England which was founded in 2010. History RIASA was founded in 2010 and is based at Leeds Beckett University's Headingley campus. It "offers international students aged between 18 and 22 the chance to combine studies with playing football across an intense, four-year course". The degree offered is a four-year Bachelor's degree in International Sports Business Management. Players study and train on campus. It was founded by former professional footballer Mark Ellis, and part-owned by David Baldwin. FA Cup
The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. First played during the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest national football competition in the world. It is organised by and named after The Football Association (The FA). Since 2015, it has been known as The Emirates FA Cup after its headline sponsor. A concurrent women's tournament is also held, the Women's FA Cup.
