The Richmond International Academic and Soccer Academy (RIASA) is an association football academy based in Leeds, England which was founded in 2010. History RIASA was founded in 2010 and is based at Leeds Beckett University's Headingley campus. It "offers international students aged between 18 and 22 the chance to combine studies with playing football across an intense, four-year course". The degree offered is a four-year Bachelor's degree in International Sports Business Management. Players study and train on campus. It was founded by former professional footballer Mark Ellis, and part-owned by David Baldwin. It is linked to Richmond University, an American University in London, who offer the players their degree when they graduate. The club had a link with English non-league club Eccleshill United, based in Bradford, but that ended in 2015. In 2018 they began a women's team. Jonathan Lewis (soccer)
Jonathan Jeremy Lewis (born June 4, 1997) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a winger for Major League Soccer club Colorado Rapids. Born in Atlanta but raised in Plantation, Florida, Lewis began his career with the Plantation Eagles and the Chicago Fire before being selected to join RIASA in England. There, he attracted interest from a few clubs before signing with League One side Bradford City in July 2015. After a short loan to Farsley Celtic, Lewis returned to the United States and began playing college soccer for the Akron Zips. Following his freshman season, Lewis was selected with the third overall pick by New York City FC in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. Adam McCabe
Adam McCabe (born 14 October 1991) is an American professional soccer player who plays for Georgia Revolution of the National Premier Soccer League. McCabe was nominated as the 2016 Defensive Player of the Year for the club. Club career Youth career McCabe grew up playing soccer in his hometown of Tallahassee, Florida with Tallahassee United Futbol Club and for Concorde Fire Soccer Club based out of Atlanta, Georgia. James Hanson (footballer, Born 1987)
James Robert Hanson (born 9 November 1987) is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker for Worksop Town. He also coaches at the RIASA Academy. After playing youth football for Huddersfield Town and Bradford City, Hanson began his career in semi-professional non-league football, playing for Eccleshill United and Guiseley. Mark Ellis (footballer, Born 1962)
Mark Edward Ellis (born 6 January 1962) is a former English professional footballer who played the majority of his league career for his hometown club Bradford City as a left winger. Career Mark first came to the attention of Bradford City while playing for the junior club Trinity Athletic in 1978 as an amateur, before he was taken as a non-contract player in 1980. He made his debut as a substitute on 11 April 1980 in a 3–3 draw with Wigan Athletic, before signing as a full-time professional the following month. The following season, he played 18 league games as Bradford won promotion from Division Four under the guidance of Roy McFarland. David Baldwin (executive)
David Baldwin is an English football executive who served as CEO of the English Football League between June and December 2020. In October 2022 he became Managing Director of Huddersfield Town. Career Baldwin played football for the youth team of Bradford City. He was appointed to the role of CEO of the English Football League in December 2019, replacing Shaun Harvey, and officially began on 17 June 2020. He previously held executive roles at Bradford City and Burnley. Whilst at Burnley, in December 2018 he was nominated for the Premier League CEO of the Year at the Football Business awards. Christian Eissele
Christian Eissele (born 23 June 1992) is an American former professional footballer who played as a striker. He is currently head coach at Lake Mary High School in Florida. Early life Eissele was born in Orlando, Florida. His father, Bill, works as a high school drama teacher and football coach. His mother, Susan, plays the piano for a local church. Eissele also has a sister who works as a lieutenant who is stationed in Valdosta, Georgia.
