2018–19 Seattle Redhawks Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 Seattle Redhawks men's basketball team represents Seattle University during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Redhawks, led by second-year head coach Jim Hayford, play their home games at the Redhawk Center, with two home games at the ShoWare Center, as members of the Western Athletic Conference. They finished the season 18–15, 6–10 in WAC play to finish in a tie for seventh place. They were defeated by 2018–19 Grand Canyon Antelopes men's basketball team, Grand Canyon in the quarterfinals of the 2019 WAC men's basketball tournament, WAC tournament. Jim Hayford
Jim Hayford (born May 5, 1967) is an American college basketball head coach who most recently coached at Seattle University. He previously coached at Eastern Washington University and Division III Whitworth University where he won about 80 percent of his games. His career winning percentage ranks among the top 10 among all active NCAA Division III coaches at the time. On November 11, 2021, Hayford resigned after it was reported that he had twice repeated racial slurs. Whitworth University In addition to his success at coaching, Hayford compiled a record of 217-57 and a winning percentage of .792, eight 20-win seasons, six appearances in the NCAA Division III Tournament (including the last five consecutive seasons), five Northwest Conference championships, three NCAA DIII Sweet 16 appearances (2008, 2010, 2011) and one Elite Eight appearance (2011). 2017–18 Central Arkansas Bears Basketball Team
The 2017–18 Central Arkansas Bears basketball team represented the University of Central Arkansas during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bears were led by fourth-year head coach Russ Pennell and played their home games at the Farris Center in Conway, Arkansas as members of the Southland Conference. They finished the season 18–17, 10–8 in Southland play to finish in seventh place. They defeated Lamar in the first round of the Southland tournament before losing in the quarterfinals to Stephen F. Austin. They were invited to the College Basketball Invitational where they defeated Seattle before losing in the quarterfinals to Jacksonville State. Stanwood, Washington
Stanwood is a city in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. The city is located north of Seattle, at the mouth of the Stillaguamish River near Camano Island. As of the 2010 census, its population is 6,231. Stanwood was founded in 1866 as Centerville, adopting its current name in 1877 after the arrival of postmaster Daniel O. Pearson. It was platted in 1889 and incorporated as a city in 1903. The city was bypassed by the Great Northern Railway, which built a depot east that grew into its own separate town, incorporated in 1922 as East Stanwood. The two Stanwoods were civic rivals for several decades, until their governments were consolidated after a 1960 referendum was approved by voters. The city was historically home to several food processing plants, which were its largest employers, and was mainly populated by Scandinavians.
