2018–19 MPBL Season
The 2018 MPBL season is the inaugural season of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. For the tournament for this season was named the Rajah Cup, also known as the Anta–Rajah Cup after sponsor Anta Sports. The tournament opened on January 25, 2018 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City. After the opening ceremonies, the game between Parañaque Patriots and Caloocan Supremos immediately followed. All games were aired on ABS-CBN Sports (ABS-CBN Sports and Action Channel 23 & HD Channel 166). The tournament ended on April 19 with the Batangas City Athletics defeating Muntinlupa Cagers in the 2018 MPBL Rajah Cup Finals. 2019 MPBL Season
The 2018–19 MPBL Datu Cup was the second tournament of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League and the first full season with a national scope. The tournament is patterned after the current format of the National Basketball Association of the United States and the now-defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association in the Philippines, which it is divided into two divisions: The Northern and the Southern Divisions. A record of 26 teams played in the conference, which ran for over 10 months, according to league commissioner Kenneth Duremdes. The almost year-long conference opened on June 12, 2018, which coincided with the Philippine Independence Day at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City and ended with the final game of the MPBL Finals on April 25, 2019 where San Juan Knights prevailed over the Davao Occidental Tigers, 3 games to 2. Quezon City

Juneric Baloria
Juneric "Jong" Davalos Baloria (born June 3, 1990) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Batangas City Embassy Chill of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). He was drafted 30th overall pick by the Blackwater Elite in the 2014 PBA draft. He was traded to the NLEX Road Warriors along with 2016 and 2017 second round picks for Jason Ballesteros and Sunday Salvacion. Amateur career Baloria was a member of the UPHSD Altas, the men's varsity basketball team of the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD) started at the NCAA Season 89 basketball tournaments in 2013. He was named NCAA Player of the Week after leading the Altas to winning both of their games of the week in July 2013. Lester Andrew F. Alvarez (born September 18, 1988) is a Filipino basketball player and head coach for the Valenzuela XUR Homes Realty Inc. of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). Alvarez played college basketball for the Adamson University Soaring Falcons. College career In UAAP Season 73 to 74, Alvarez is one of the key pieces to the Falcons squad alongside Alex Nuyles, as they led the Falcons back to relevance in the UAAP. The Batangas City Embassy Chill is a professional basketball team currently competing in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) and the Filbasket. The team traces its roots to the original Tanduay Rhum Masters that played in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) from 1975 to 1987 and again from 1999 to 2001. Batangas City, just as the original Tanduay team, is owned and affiliated with Tanduay Distillers. The Navotas Uni-Pak Sardines were a professional basketball that last played in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). The team was one of the MPBL's charter teams and is the only one currently inactive. The team played its home games at the Navotas Sports Complex. In their first two seasons, the team was known as the Navotas Clutch.
