2018–19 ISU Short Track Speed Skating World Cup
The 2018–19 ISU Short Track Speed Skating World Cup was a multi-race tournament over a season for short track speed skating. The season began on 2 November 2018 in Canada and ended on 10 February 2019 in Italy. The World Cup was organised by the ISU who also runs world cups and championships in speed skating and figure skating. The World Cup consisted of five competitions this year. 2017–18 ISU Short Track Speed Skating World Cup
The 2017–18 ISU Short Track Speed Skating World Cup was a multi-race tournament over a season for short track speed skating. The season began on 28 September 2017 in Hungary and ended on 19 November 2017. The World Cup was organised by the ISU who also ran world cups and championships in speed skating and figure skating. The World Cup consisted of just four competitions this year (rather than six) due to the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. Steven Dubois (; born May 1, 1997) is a Canadian short-track speed skater. Career Junior At the 2016 World Junior Short Track Speed Skating Championships in Sofia. Bulgaria, Dubois won the bronze medal in the 500 m event. Senior Dubois joined Canada's World Cup team for the first time in 2017 and was a reserve for the 2018 Winter Olympics. His first full season as part of the World Cup team was in the 2018–19 season, winning bronze in three of the World Cup stops in the 1500 m event. The following season, Dubois would win his first individual World Cup race, the 500 m event in Dresden, among a silver and two bronze individual (versus team) medals he won at other stops during the season. Sjinkie Knegt (; born 5 July 1989) is a Dutch short track speed skater. Career He competed for the Netherlands at the 2010 Winter Olympics in the men's 500 m, 1000 m, and 1500m. Lin Xiaojun (), born Lim Hyo-jun (, born 29 May 1996), is a South Korean-born Chinese short track speed skater. He is the 2018 champion of the Men's 1500 m event in short track speed skating at the Winter Olympics, and also set the new Olympic record for the event. Originally starting as a swimmer, Lim took up skating at a young age. The Utah Olympic Oval is an indoor speed skating oval located southwest of Salt Lake City, in Kearns, Utah. The Oval was built for the 2002 Winter Olympics and it hosted the long track speed skating events for the 2002 games.
