2018–19 Chennaiyin FC Season
The 2018–19 Chennaiyin FC season was the club's fifth season since its establishment in 2014 and their fifth season in the Indian Super League. They will also play in the 2019 AFC Cup. This is the first time an ISL club will play in any continental championship. Transfers Pre-season In: Out: Squad Out on loan Technical staff Pre-season and friendlies Chennayin FC started their pre-season in Malaysia on 14 August under the watchful eyes of John Gregory. The team is supposed to play four warm-up matches and will return to Chennai on September 11. In the first friendly, Chennaiyin played with Malaysia U19 and drew the match. Playing against Malaysia Premier League team MIFA, Chennaiyin won in penalties by 3-2 after regulation time ended in 1-1. They played their third match against Felda United and drew that match. Chennaiyin Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The club competes in the Indian Super League, the top flight of Indian football. The club was founded in August 2014 during the inaugural season of the Indian Super League. One of the most successful clubs in the history of the league, it has won the Indian Super League title on two occasions, in the 2015 and 2017–18 seasons respectively. Zohmingliana Ralte (born 2 October 1990) is an Indian professional footballer who last played as a defender for Chennaiyin FC in the Indian Super League. Career Early career Born in Aizawl, Mizoram, Ralte began his career at the academy of Mohun Bagan in 2005 before leaving the academy after one year due to being homesick. He then joined the Rangdajied United youth team in 2007 before joining Shillong Lajong in 2008. While with Shillong Lajong Ralte played in the I-League and I-League 2nd Division. Mohammed Rafi (born 24 May 1982, Trikaripur, Kasargod) is an Indian former professional footballer who last played for Kerala Blasters as a striker in Indian Super League. Club Mohammed Rafi came through the ranks of SBT which had distinction of fielding not only all-Indian but also all-Malayali squad. SBT was promoted to first division of National Football League in 2004 and in that season he scored 4 goals and came into limelight. Jeje Lalpekhlua Fanai (born 7 January 1991) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a striker, and last appeared with Indian Super League club East Bengal. Laishram Bedashwor Singh (born 31 January 1998) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Mohammedan in the I-League. Career Born in Manipur, to a Hindu Meitei Family. Issac Vanmalsawma Chhakchhuak (born 15 September 1996) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Odisha in the Indian Super League. Khangebam Thoi Singh (born 5 October 1990) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Real Kashmir in the I-League.
