The 2018 World RX of Barcelona was the first round of the fifth season of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. The event was held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Montmeló, Catalonia. Guerlain Chicherit
Guerlain Chicherit (born 20 May 1978 in Paris) is a French rally and rallycross driver, and a professional skier who was four times world champion in freeriding (1999, 2002, 2006 and 2007). Biography He made his professional motorsport debut in the French Rally Cup driving a Citroën Saxo, and after a successful season in 2003 he became an official Citroën driver. In 2006, after winning the 2005 Dakar Challenge, he attended his first Dakar Rally, driving a BMW X3, and won a stage on his way to finishing 9th in the final classification. In the 2009 Dakar Rally he suffered an accident while fighting in the general classification, and finished 9th. Later that year, after achieving a great series of results including a 3rd place in the Tunisia Rally and wins on Rally Transibérico and UAE Desert Challenge, he won the FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup with co-driver Tina Thörner. GCK Motorsport, formally known as GC Kompetition, is a subsidiary of Green Corp Konnection (GCK) and a French motorsport team founded by freeriding ski champion, rally driver and stunt driver Guerlain Chicherit in 2017. Jérôme Grosset-Janin
Jérôme Grosset-Janin (born 19 June 1984) is a French rallycross driver from Sallanches, Haute-Savoie. Biography Grosset-Janin began his motorsport career in ice racing in 2003, and competed in the 2005 Andros Trophy, where he secured 14 podiums from 14 races. The following year, at age 22, he switched to rallying in the French Asphalt Rally Championship, finishing third to become the youngest driver to win a rally and reach the podium. In 2009, Grosset-Janin returned to rallycross, finishing third in the French Rallycross Championship in 2010 and 2011. In 2012, he finished runner-up and in 2013 he was crowned French Rallycross Champion. In 2014, he piloted a Clio in the British round of the FIA European Rallycross Championship and finished sixth overall in the heats. Timur Renatovich Timerzyanov (russian: Тиму́р Рена́тович Тимерзя́нов; born 31 January 1987) is a Russian rallycross driver, currently competing in the FIA World Rallycross Championship. He has won the European Rallycross Division 1A Championship in 2010 with SET Promotion and the European Rallycross Division Supercar Championship in 2012 and 2013 with Hansen Motorsport.
