History The club was founded as Tulsa Roughnecks FC by Jeff and Dale Hubbard, brothers and co-owners of the Tulsa Drillers minor league baseball franchise. The Hubbards were announced as co-owners and co-chairs on December 18, 2013. Prodigal, LLC., owner of Oklahoma City Energy FC, another USL club, served as a minority owner. On February 26, 2014, it was announced that the team would be known as Tulsa Roughnecks FC, paying homage to the original Roughnecks which played in the original North American Soccer League from 1978 until the league folded in 1984 (and were best known for winning Soccer Bowl '83). Riggs Lennon (born May 26, 1994) is an American retired soccer player who played as a forward. College and amateur Lennon played college soccer at the University of Virginia from 2013 to 2015, transferring to Creighton University in 2016 for his senior year. Ivan Mirković
Ivan Mirković ( sr-Cyrl, Иван Мирковић; born 25 March 1987) is a former Serbian footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Youth and amateur Mirković played four years of college soccer, two years at Oxnard College and two years at Fresno Pacific University. During his time at Fresno Pacific University, Mirkovic earned third-team all-PacWest honors as a defender, named NCCAA Tournament Defensive MVP and named to NCCAA All-West Region team as a defender in 2012. Jhon Alexander Pírez Araújo (born 20 February 1993) is an Uruguayan footballer who plays as a striker. Career Born in Montevideo, Pírez joined hometown Defensor Sporting's youth categories in 2004, aged 11. On 4 August 2008 he was invited to a trial period at Chelsea, and after impressing during his stay he was granted a scholarship deal with the club. However, due to FIFA regulations, Pírez was not allowed to play in England before his eighteenth birthday. He subsequently returned to Defensor, now in a loan deal. Real Monarchs is a professional soccer club playing in the MLS Next Pro, a third division league of American soccer. The team is owned by, and operates as the reserve team of, the Major League Soccer club Real Salt Lake. Taft Stadium
Taft Stadium is a WPA-built stadium in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It is the current home to teams from Northwest Classen High School, John Marshall High School, Classen School of Advanced Studies, Oklahoma Centennial High School, as well as a professional soccer team, Oklahoma City Energy FC. Built in 1934, the stadium closed in 2013 and reopened in 2015 following substantial renovation. As part of the renovation the seating capacity was reduced from approximately 18,000 to approximately 7,500, with the red-stone facade being the only feature left unaltered. A new all-weather track replaced a dirt track which was installed in 1946.
