The 2018 TCR Middle East Series season was the second season of the TCR Middle East Series. The championship started at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi on 19 January and ended at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir on 24 February. TCR Middle East Series
The TCR Middle East Touring Car Series is a touring car racing series based in the Middle East. History On 15 November 2016, WSC announced that the creation of the TCR Middle East Series. The series was officially launched on 2 December 2016 at the Bahrain International Circuit, where a media and test day were held. The series visits the Dubai Autodrome, Yas Marina Circuit and the Bahrain International Circuit. Relaunch In August 2022, the TCR Middle East Series was relaunched by WSC in cooperation with its new promoter, Driving Force Events. The Dubai Autodrome is an FIA sanctioned motorsports circuit located in Dubailand, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The architects of the project were Populous and the circuit was designed by Clive Bowen of Apex Circuit Design. Opened in October 2004 with the final round of the LG Super Racing Weekend featuring the final rounds of the FIA GT Championship, European Touring Car Championship and 2004 Formula Renault V6 Eurocup season, Dubai Autodrome was the first part of the Dubai Motor City development that was available for use. 2017–18 Formula 4 UAE Championship
The 2017–18 Formula 4 UAE Championship was the second season of the Formula 4 UAE Championship, a motor racing series for the United Arab Emirates regulated according to FIA Formula 4 regulations, and organised and promoted by the Automobile & Touring Club of the UAE (ATCUAE) and AUH Motorsports. It began on 14 December 2017 at the Yas Marina Circuit and finished on 3 March 2018 at the Dubai Autodrome, after 24 championship races held across six quadruple-header rounds. Luca Engstler (born 8 March 2000) is a German racing driver currently competing in the WTCR and ADAC TCR Germany Touring Car Championship. Having previously competed in the TCR Middle East Touring Car Series and ADAC Formula 4 amongst others. Racing career Engstler began his career in 2009 in Karting, he continued in karting until 2014. In 2015 he switched to the ADAC Formula 4 Series, he continued in the series for 2016 and finished twenty-sixth in the championship standings that year. Engstler Motorsport is a private German auto racing team based in Wiggensbach, run by driver Franz Engstler. Maťo Homola (born 19 July 1994, in Bratislava) is a Slovak racing driver. He is currently driving in TCR Europe in Target Competition with Hyundai i30 N TCR. Maťo became also a brand new Hyundai N ambassador for Slovakia in 2019. After having successfully finished on 5th position in 2016 in TCR International Series with B3 Racing Team Hungary, Mato Homola has switched to DG Sport Competition and Opel Astra OPC TCR.
