2018 Orange County SC Season
The 2018 Orange County SC season was the club's eighth season of existence, and their eighth consecutive season in the United Soccer League, the second tier of American soccer. Orange County also competed in the U.S. Open Cup. The season covered the period from October 14, 2017, to the beginning of the 2019 USL season. OCSC won the Western Conference in the regular season, finishing one point ahead of runners-up Sacramento Republic. It marked the second time in club history that Orange County had topped the conference, after 2015. However, the club would be knocked out in the conference finals by eventual USL Cup runners-up Phoenix Rising. In the U.S. Open Cup, Orange County were eliminated in the second round by Golden State Force, failing to win a game in the competition for the fourth time in club history. 2018 marked the first season with Braeden Cloutier as the club's head coach, and Cloutier's first season as a professional head coach. Orange County Soccer Club is an American soccer team based in the Orange County, California city of Irvine. Founded in 2010 as the Los Angeles Blues, the team currently plays in the second tier USL Championship. The team plays its home games at Championship Soccer Stadium, located inside Great Park in Irvine. Andre Rawls (born December 20, 1991) is an American soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper. Career College Rawls spent his entire college career at Saint Mary's College, including a red-shirted year in 2010. Rawls was named the WCC goalkeeper of the year in 2014 and earned first team all-Far West Region honors by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. He set a program record for career goals-against average at 0.98 and registered 25 career wins and 17 shut-outs. Noah Powder (born 27 October 1998) is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for Northern Colorado Hailstorm in the USL League One. Born in the United States, he represents the Trinidad and Tobago national team. Jos Hooiveld (; born 22 April 1983) is a retired Dutch footballer. Hooiveld is known for his strong physical performances. Born in Zeijen, Drenthe, he started his career with Eredivisie club Heerenveen in 2003, before moving to Eerste Divisie side Zwolle, on loan, between 2004 and 2006. Sporting Kansas City II is a MLS Next Pro club affiliated with Sporting Kansas City of Major League Soccer.
