2018 New Orleans Privateers Baseball Team
The 2018 New Orleans Privateers baseball team represented the University of New Orleans (UNO) during the 2018 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Privateers played their home games at Maestri Field at Privateer Park as a member of the Southland Conference. They were led by head coach Blake Dean, in his 3rd season at UNO. Blake Dean (baseball)
Michael Blake Dean (born February 25, 1988) is a former professional baseball player who is currently the head coach of the New Orleans Privateers baseball program. Playing career Dean played collegiately at LSU Tigers baseball, Louisiana State University (LSU). He was one of LSU's leading hitters and was named MVP of the 2008 SEC baseball tournament. He has also received many other freshman awards, such as 2007 Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American; 2007 Freshman All-SEC; 2007 Louisiana Freshman of the Year; SEC Freshman of the Week (May 7, 2007 and April 16, 2007). Blake Dean tried out as a pitcher, coming out of high school. He was on the verge of getting cut, because he lacked velocity. Robert "Bob" Braddy Field is a baseball venue in Jackson, Mississippi, United States. It is home to the Jackson State Tigers baseball team of the NCAA Division I Southwestern Athletic Conference. Originally known as Jackson State University Baseball Complex, it was renamed prior to the 2010 season for Jackson State athletic director Robert Braddy. Vincent–Beck Stadium
Vincent–Beck Stadium (formerly Cardinal Field) is a ballpark located in Beaumont, Texas, on Jim Gilligan Way on the campus of Lamar University. The stadium was built in 1969 and has a current capacity of 3,500 spectators. It is the home stadium of the Lamar Cardinals baseball team. Greer Field at Turchin Stadium is a baseball stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is the on-campus home the Tulane University Tulane Green Wave baseball, Green Wave college baseball team. From 1893 to 1989, Tulane's home ballpark was Tulane Diamond, which was located about south of Turchin Stadium's current location. History The stadium was named for Robert Turchin, a World War II veteran and 1943 graduate of Tulane, and his wife, Lillian Turchin, who headed the drive in 1990 to build it. Chapman Field (baseball)
Chapman Field is located in Corpus Christi, TX. The facility has both a baseball field, home to the Texas A&M–Corpus Christi Islanders baseball team and a softball field, home to the Texas A&M–Corpus Christi Islanders softball team. The facility was renamed after John and Louise Chapman before the beginning of the 2007 baseball season. Whataburger Field is used instead of Chapman Field for some baseball early season tournaments and also some big matchups (i.e. Texas A&M or Rice). Major renovations to both fields were made in 2011 and 2012.
