2018 Individual Speedway Junior World Championship
The 2018 Individual Speedway Under 21 World Championship was the 42nd edition of the FIM Individual Under-21 World Championship and was staged over three rounds, at Daugavpils, Leszno and Pardubice. Poland's Maksym Drabik was the defending champion having won the title in 2017. Result The title was won by Bartosz Smektała, who beat Drabik by two points. Smektała had trailed Drabik heading into the final round, however he scored a 21-point maximum to take the title. Great Britain's Robert Lambert took bronze. Final series Classification The meeting classification was according to the points scored during the meeting, with the total points scored by each rider during each meeting credited as ''World Championship points''. The FIM Speedway Under 21 World Champion was the rider who collected most World Championship points at the end of the series. Individual Speedway Junior World Championship
The Speedway Under-21 World Championship is an annual speedway event held each year organized by the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) since 1977. As of 2022, the title was awarded to the winner of the SGP2 category at the FIM Speedway World Championship. History Between 1977 and 1987 the Championship was the called Individual Speedway Junior European Championship (European Speedway Under 21 Championship), open only to European riders. In 1979, the Championship allowed riders from other continents to compete, but was renamed to the Speedway World Under 21 Championship in 1988. A new competition was named Individual Speedway Junior European Championship was founded by the European Motorcycle Union (UEM) in 1998, only open to European competitors. Nick Škorja
Nick Škorja (born 28 July 1998) is a Slovenian motorcycle speedway rider. Career Škorja appeared twice as a track reserve in the 2016 Speedway Grand Prix and once at the 2017 Speedway Grand Prix and 2018 Speedway Grand Prix. He has finished runner-up in the Slovenian Individual Speedway Championship in 2016, 2017, 2020 and 2022. He reached the finals of both the 2018 Speedway Under-21 World Championship and 2019 Speedway Under-21 World Championship. In 2019 he was selected for the Slovenian team for the 2019 Speedway of Nations. He would have made his British league debut for Newcastle Diamonds in 2020 but the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 2018 Team Speedway Junior World Championship
The 2018 Team Speedway Junior World Championship was the 14th FIM Team Under-21 World Championship season. The final took place on 18 August, 2018 at the Outrup Stadium in Outrup, Denmark. Poland won their 11th Team Under-21 World Championship, and their fifth in succession. The Poles accumulated 46 points, with Bartosz Smektała top scoring for them with 13 points. 2018 Speedway Grand Prix
The 2018 Speedway Grand Prix season was the 24th season of the Speedway Grand Prix era, and decided the 73rd FIM Speedway World Championship. It was the eighteenth series under the promotion of Benfield Sports International, an IMG company. The world title was won by Tai Woffinden, who finished 10 points ahead of Bartosz Zmarzlik in second with Fredrik Lindgren taking the bronze medal. It was Woffinden's third world title, following his wins in 2013 and 2015, making him the most successful British rider in history. Defending champion Jason Doyle finished the season in seventh place. Qualification For the 2018 season there were 15 permanent riders, joined at each Grand Prix by one wild card and two track reserves.
