2018 ITTF Women's World Cup
The 2018 ITTF Women's World Cup was a table tennis competition held in Chengdu, China, from 28 to 30 September 2018. It was the 22nd edition of the ITTF-sanctioned event, and the ninth time that it has been staged in China. In the final, China's Ding Ning defeated fellow Chinese player Zhu Yuling, 4–0, to win her third World Cup title. Qualification In total, 20 players qualified for the World Cup: * The current World Champion * 18 players from the five Continental Cups held during 2018 * A wild card, selected by the ITTF A maximum of two players from each association could qualify. ;Notes Competition format The tournament consisted of two stages: a preliminary group stage and a knockout stage. Doo Hoi Kem
Doo Hoi Kem (; born 27 November 1996) is a Hong Kong table tennis player. She won two medals at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics and she was a member of Hong Kong women's team at the 2014 World Team Championships. In 2015, she won a bronze medal in mixed doubles event with Wong Chun Ting at the World Championships. In 2021, she also won bronze in the women's team event with Lee Ho Ching and Minnie Soo Wai Yam at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Miu Hirano
(born 14 April 2000) is a Japanese table tennis player. She won Women's World Cup in 2016 as the youngest ever winner. She won the women's singles at the 2017 Asian Table Tennis Championships by sweeping away three top Chinese players. Zhang Mo ( born 17 January 1989) is a female Chinese-born table tennis player who now represents Canada. She was born in Shijiazhuang, and currently resides in Vancouver. She competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics, reaching the third round of the singles competition. With her win at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, she qualified for the London 2012 Olympic Games. The 2018 ITTF Pan-America Cup was a table tennis competition that took place from 15–17 June in Asunción, Paraguay. The event was organised by the Paraguay Table Tennis Federation, under the authority of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). It was the second edition of the event. Jian Fang Lay-Hong (; born 6 March 1973), is a right-handed Chinese-born Australian ladies table tennis player. She plays penhold, with a long pimple rubber at one side for use of attacking, blocking as well as chopping. She is currently number 1 female player in Australia, as well as number 141 in the world. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Lay-Hong became the first Australian woman to compete at 6 Olympic games. The 2018 ITTF-Oceania Cup was a table tennis event that took place from 18–19 May in Port Vila, Vanuatu. The event was organised by ITTF-Oceania, under the authority of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). It was the 10th edition of the event, and the first time that it had been held in Vanuatu. Men's singles and women's singles competitions were held, and the winner of each event qualified automatically for the 2018 Men's and Women's World Cups. (born 23 February 1993) is a Japanese table tennis player. A regular member of the Japanese national team, she won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics, a bronze at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and a silver medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in Women's team. She is a left-handed inverted rubber shakehand player who primarily uses speedy top-spins and loops in offensive play.
