2018 IIHF Women's Challenge Cup Of Asia Division I
The 2018 IIHF Women's Challenge Cup of Asia Division I was an international women's ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The tournament took place between 6 and 9 March 2018 at the Empire City Ice Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This edition marks the return of the Division I tournament after no division tournament was held in 2017. The tournament was contested by four nations. Host Malaysia won the tournament after winning over the United Arab Emirates in their last round robin match. 2016 IIHF Women's Challenge Cup Of Asia Division I
The 2016 IIHF Women's Challenge Cup of Asia Division I was an international women's ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The tournament took place between 22 March and 26 March 2016 in Taipei, Taiwan and was the third edition held since its formation in 2013 under the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia series of tournaments. Chinese Taipei won the tournament for the second year in a row after winning all four of their round robin games and finishing first in the standings. Thailand finished in second place and Singapore finished third. The 2019 IIHF Women's Challenge Cup of Asia Division I was an international women's ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The tournament took place between 14 April and 19 April 2019 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and was the fifth edition held since its formation in 2014 under the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia series of tournaments. The tournament made up the second level of competition sitting below the 2019 IIHF Women's Challenge Cup of Asia. The Philippines won the tournament after finishing first in the standings. The United Arab Emirates finished in second place and India finished third. The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF; french: Fédération internationale de hockey sur glace; german: Internationale Eishockey-Föderation) is a worldwide governing body for ice hockey. It is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and has 83 member countries. The IIHF maintains the IIHF World Ranking based on international ice hockey tournaments. Rules of play for IIHF events differ from hockey in North America and the rules of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Empire City is a shopping mall situated at the Empire City development in Damansara, Selangor, Malaysia. Mall Mammoth Empire is the developer of the Empire City. At its basement two there are 2,000 car parking bays. Malaysia National Ice Skating Stadium The mall building hosts an ice skating rink dubbed as the Empire City Ice Arena or the Malaysia National Ice Skating Stadium. Ice Business, a Germany-based firm was responsible for the construction of the venue's ice skating rink located on the first sub level of the building it occupies. IIHF Women's Challenge Cup Of Asia
The IIHF Asia and Oceania Championship (formally the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia) are a series of international ice hockey tournaments in the continent of Asia. The purpose of the tournament is to provide competitive opportunities for Asian and Oceania teams that are either in the lower divisions of the IIHF World Championships or did not compete in any IIHF World Championships. The first edition was held in Hong Kong from 24 to 26 April 2008, with the second edition held a year later in the United Arab Emirates. The third edition took place from 29 March to 4 April 2010 in the Republic of China. The first women's tournament took place in Shanghai, China from 10 to 14 April 2010, and the first University Challenge Cup of Asia took place in Goyang-Si, Seoul, South Korea from 12 to 14 May 2010.
