2018 Curlers Corner Autumn Gold Curling Classic
The 2018 Curlers Corner Autumn Gold Curling Classic was held from October 5 to 8 at the Calgary Curling Club in Calgary, Alberta. The event was a triple knockout format, and the purse for the event was CAD$50,000, with the winning team receiving $13,000. Kerri Einarson from Gimli defeated the reigning Canadian champion Jennifer Jones rink from Winnipeg in the final. The win gave Einarson and her team their 4th World Curling Tour win of the 2018-19 curling season. Nancy Martin
Nancy Faye Martin (born February 17, 1973 in Rosetown, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian curler from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Career Martin has been playing on the World Curling Tour since the 2004-05 season. In the 2014-15 season, she joined the Jill Shumay rink at third. She has been skipping a rink since the 2015-16 season. Martin played in the 2018 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Olympic Trials with partner Catlin Schneider. They finished 5-3 and lost in a tiebreaker. She also competed in the 2019 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship with Tyrel Griffith, losing to Jocelyn Peterman and Brett Gallant in the final. Rachelle Brown
Rachel "Rachelle" Brown (born July 9, 1986 as Rachel Pidherny) is a Canadian curler from Edmonton, Alberta. Career Born in Smithers, British Columbia, Brown moved to Edmonton c. 2006. As a university curler, she represented the University of Alberta at four CIS/CCA Curling Championships. Brown first represented her new province at the 2009 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship, playing lead for Team Alberta, skipped by Tom Appelman. The team had a less than successful tournament, going 3–8, but Brown had the best percentage among leads in the tournament, and was named to the First All-Star team. Brown played for a number of skips before joining the Sweeting rink in 2011. She played with Joanne Delanoy from 2008 to 2009, Diane Foster and Casey Scheidegger from 2009 to 2010 and for Bobbie Sauder and Dana Ferguson from 2010 to 2011. Dana Ferguson
Dana Ferguson (born February 25, 1987 in St. Albert, Alberta) is a Canadian curler from Edmonton, Alberta. She currently plays second on Team Kelsey Rocque. Career Ferguson was a member of the University of Alberta team that lost in the tie-breaker game of the 2010 CIS/CCA Curling Championships. She played third for the team, which was skipped by Jessica Mair. Also that season, Ferguson played third for Brenda Doroshuk's women's rink which went 0–3 at the 2010 Alberta Scotties Tournament of Hearts. In 2011, Ferguson made the transition to the skip position after her new skip, Bobbie Sauder took some time off to have a baby. Sarah Wilkes
Sarah Wilkes (born August 4, 1990 in Toronto, Ontario) is a Canadian curler from London, Ontario. She won the 2019 Scotties Tournament of Hearts with Team Chelsea Carey and is currently the second for Team Rachel Homan. Career Juniors As a junior curler, Wilkes played third for the 2011 Ontario Junior Women's Championship team skipped by Clancy Grandy. The team represented Ontario at the 2011 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, where they finished with a 5–7 record. In University curling, Wilkes played third for the Wilfrid Laurier University women's curling team. She played in the 2010 CIS/CCA Curling Championships on a team skipped by Danielle Inglis, losing in the semi-final. Chelsea Carey
Chelsea Danielle Carey (born September 12, 1984 in Winnipeg, Manitoba) is a Canadian curler from Calgary, Alberta. She is the 2016 and 2019 Canadian and Alberta women's champion skip and 2014 Manitoba provincial women's champion skip. Career Earlier career Carey curled in six provincial junior championships, but did not win the event. She did win the 2000 Juvenile Provincial championship which she followed up with a silver medal at the 2001 Canadian Juvenile championship. She was also the Manitoba high school provincial champion in 2002. Ashley Klymchuk
Ashley Klymchuk (born May 4, 1993 as Ashley Nordin) is a Canadian curler from Kamloops, British Columbia. Career Klymchuk competed in two U Sports/Curling Canada University Championships for the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack in 2015 and 2016. At the 2015 Championship, her team of Corryn Brown, Erin Pincott and Samantha Fisher made it all the way to the final where they lost to the Alberta Pandas skipped by Kelsey Rocque. In 2016, they once again lost the final to the Pandas. She competed in her first British Columbia Scotties Tournament of Hearts in 2015 as second for a team which consisted of her three sisters, Courtney Karwandy, Crista Sanbrooks and skip Amanda Russett. Dezaray Hawes
Dezaray Hawes (born January 23, 1997) is a Canadian curler from Peachland, British Columbia. Career Hawes was the second on Team British Columbia skipped by Sarah Daniels at the 2016 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. The team won a silver medal after losing the final to Nova Scotia's Mary Fay. She returned the following year as second for Corryn Brown where the team went 5–5. Hawes also placed fifth with the Daniels rink in 2015 at the 2015 Canada Winter Games. Hawes won her first World Curling Tour event in 2016 at the Qinghai China Ladies International. Erin Pincott
Erin Pincott (born April 17, 1995 in Richmond, British Columbia) is a Canadian curler from Kamloops. She is the longtime third for Corryn Brown, having played together since they were six years old. Career Junior career Playing for Corryn Brown, Pincott won a gold medal at the 2011 Canada Winter Games for British Columbia after winning the 2010 provincial high school championships and the 2010 BC Winter games gold medal. They represented the province at the 2013 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, which they also won. This qualified the team to represent Canada at the 2013 World Junior Curling Championships, where they finished with a 3–6 record. The team lost in the finals of the BC Juniors the following year. Corryn Cecile Brown (born July 19, 1995) is a Canadian curler from British Columbia. She currently skips her own team out of Kamloops. Career She was the skip of the winning team at the 2013 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, and represented Canada at the 2013 World Junior Curling Championships, where she placed 9th. Brown also represented Canada at the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics where she won a bronze medal. She also won a gold medal at the 2011 Canada Winter Games. Brown and her team competed once again at the 2015 Canadian Junior Curling Championships in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador, where they won the bronze medal after losing to Ontario in the semi-finals 9–4.
